HNT-Back to Whatever...

It's that time of year when I take all the Limelets back to school shopping. Sometimes I try crazy things on just to amuse myself, which is somewhat absurd because I really don't enjoy clothes shopping. I dislike it mainly because ever since I developed hips and breasts when I was 11 I have had a hard time finding things that fit comfortably (Excuse me do you have anything for a curvy girl child who is not even 5 feet tall and that is age appropriate for an 11 year old?). As an adult I hated worrying about being stylish and so I basically didn't worry about it. Since I have gained a fair amount of weight in the last year or so it's even more aggravating. Most of the time shopping is an exercise in finding something that merely doesn't make me want to gag when I look at it on me.
So, imagine my surprise when I picked out this wild green dress made out of two scarves and tried it on just to be silly and not only did I not turn a nauseous green upon inspection of my reflection but kinda liked what I saw. It hid the bits I am self conscious about and sorta did nice things for the bits that ain't too shabby. I was pleased.

Sing it with me now....I feel pretty, oh so pretty...

HHNT
*Epilogue: I did not purchase the dress because it was actually too small for me (I couldn't even close the top all the way), I don't actually have any place I could ever wear it, and it cost more than I could afford. But for a few minutes it felt nice. And please, I am not fishing for compliments with this post....just being a little naked in exposing my thought life.

  7. so, if you can't close the top all the way, does that mean the breasts would be pushed up closer together??

  10. OK, wait. Am I NOT supposed to compliment you here? Does that mean I have to think of something else?

    Hmmmm ...

Well, I'd say that the camera phone came in handy, I see. I have one, even though not long ago I swore I'd never get one because they'd be totally useless.

  12. You may not be fishing for compliments, but you're getting them.

Your shots are always pretty and intriguing, but this one makes me think words like: "fetching" and "sultry" and "arousing." Too much? ;)

Anyway, you are way beautiful and I love that dress. Thanks for sharing.

  15. I say this not because I have to but that dress looked awesome on you Lime. It sure is a shame you could not just have it altered a little to fit your ample assets. Everyone deserves a little indulgence from time to time especially when you have a hard time finding something that works for you. I am sure you can find something to do with that sexy dress. :)

I really love your HNTs. Tie-dye of not, they always are wonderful.

    Happy HNT Lime.

  16. Sharp dress!! What store was it? Does it come in blue? It did look great. Too bad you couldn't find a slight flaw in it to get a discount on the dress. I hate that when you find something that looks good on you and not the mannequin or catalog model and it's too expensive. Ugh!!

The top was supposed to close further than that?

    Wow.

I need a dress like that...at one of my last gigs, one of the old ladies said my costumes needed to be more elegant, and in the same breath she said, "And for GOD'S sake, show 'em your tits."

Senior citizens crack me the hell up.

You should splurge, go for it. You deserve it, buy it, make it yours. Nobody is noticing what isn't buttoned up and it says alot if you felt good in it. "It hid the bits I am self conscious about and sorta did nice things for the bits that ain't too shabby." That is a good thing.

Wear it . . . out to dinner. Wear it to the grocery store -- just for fun.

Love the shirt you did for Galen! I have been getting A LOT of compliments on your shirts especially at therapy....

  33. Bravo to you for posting yourself in the dressing room. I have a theory that they put in lighting that makes you look twice as wide and then force you march out into the great wide open so that everyone can see your massiveness. I usually just buy things and then try them on at home. But you do look stunning in the too small, overpriced scarf! work it girl!

  34. Wow girl! You look great in that dress. I detest shopping for clothing because as you mentioned I have always been very short and I have a bubble butt so things are hard to find for bubble butted, short legged girls. I always had to buy my pants/shorts to fit my butt while the waist was always just a bit to loose.

I do love you in the dress!

    HHNT!

  35. I LOVE that dress and if they have it in the right size I would go back and get it and MAKE a place where you can wear it! Love ya

No fishing - why: as you know I love fish (even heads and tails:-)

Btw: I just love the way your expose yourself while thinking!

  37. Me thinks you need to call a babysitter, make a date with your husband and wear that dress!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I think the dress is beautiful. I too hate shopping for the same reasons, all "girls" no height so everything has to be altered. It costs more than it's worth sometimes.

    ReplyDelete
  39. For some reason I have been thinking about what you said so I had to come visit again.

You know it amazes me the more that I think of it. There are more than a few people that fit into the same category as you, most noticeably being short by todays standards more than anything and not rail thin at the same time so you do not make it into junior fashions.

So why doesn't someone cater to just that body style and try and keep it affordable. I would think they would do pretty well once the word spread. And I think you look awesome period. I get the feeling it has something to do with the inner you shining through which is even more stunning than the outer you. I hope that came out right.

  41. HOT HOT! You should have bought it. I am about to shop for my kids before school starts. They are still at an age where I can shop without them and they dont care what I pick out for them. So far anyway.

  42. All I can say is thank God for 2 sizes too small and women with curves. You are beautiful from the inside out, Michelle. If I lived near you I'd buy the damned thing just to see that smile. Love ya!

  45. Sexay!

When will they ever make clothes that fit? Women have curves, but all they do is design clothes for the smallest size and then add some inches.

How about giving it to a tailor? Maybe he/she can make some alterations?
