Da Count-Getaway

Well, the house is clean. It's been a long month for many reasons aside from just sickness. Illness, my mother-in-law's injury, certain other things I haven't mentioned here, and then locally there has been some really gruesome, horrific happenings. I'm hoping February is better than January.

A friend of mine has a husband who has some big business related conference he goes to this time every year so she throws a ladies sleepover for a bunch of friends during that time. She's an amazing cook and baker so we get fabulous food, and some nice wine. There are always some outrageous favors as well. I'm looking forward to getting away from sick people and bad news even if it's just for one night....and counting the opportunity to do so.

Michael Scott: Today is Spring cleaning day here at Dundler Mifflin, and yes I know it's January, I'm not an idiot, but if you do your Spring cleaning in January guess what you don't have to do in the Spring... anything. They say a cluttered desk means a cluttered mind, well I say an empty desk means an...
    Dwight Schrute: Empty mind.
Michael Scott: Well, no... that's not what I was going to say.

Hey, you got that rodent in your state that is suppose to pop up tomorrow and predict when winter is suppose to end? Any chance of getting someone to make sure he does not see his shadow so we can have an early end to winter? I am not saying bump the little guy off but maybe put up an umbrella or something to block all light.

  11. Two of my best girlfriends and I used to do this - the sleepovers - before our kids got too old. We'd stay up late, drink too much, eat too much, gossip waaaaayyy to much. Female bonding at it's best!

  12. Ooh this sounds like so much fun! I went to so many slumber parties when I was young..but you know, the last one, someone who shall be nameless, but lives in the Great Northwest, snored ALOT and VERY LOUD too, I might add, so I didnt get much sleep.

Have fun Lime and have a great weekend!

  18. Dude, if I were a nasty pathogen and you looked at me like that picture down there, I would come clean on my own. You wouldn't have to spray me with NUTHIN'!

  26. It's always nice to get away from the madness, I go to the beaches and mountains a lot.

I really do like people, but some of the things they do just floor me and I have to get away by myself.

    Have fun.

  28. Think of it this way - you've crammed all the crap that could happen in 2008 into one month. So the rest of your year should be bloody fantastic :)

  29. Lime - Thanks for your honest criticism about my blog's theme. I showed it to Mrs. Z and she took one look at it and said "it's too hard to read." So we went to wordpress.org and looked at over 100 themes, before picking another one that's easier on the eyes and good looking too.

Anyways, congrats on cleaning the house. Wish I could say the same. Sounds like fun. I'll dress in drag and show up, although I'll have to do something about my beard and bald spots. That would be a dead giveaway.

  31. Ah, honey, you do need a breather--you, who is like the Mamma Happyface of Blogland, sound a bit weary.

Go drink and eat, and then take a second night at a hotel.

  32. I hope you had a wonderful time. There is just nothing like a bunch of fun ladies getting together, having a drink or three and getting the giggles :)
