Friday 40 & Da Count

FRIDAY 40

I've driven the length of Interstate 40 from California to North Carolina.
I've used WD-40 to unstick things.
Sometimes I need to catch 40 winks.
I've read Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves
I'm glad I'm not 40 weeks pregnant.

DA COUNT

Gman, Susie, and Mona have been alerting people that Sunday is my 40th birthday. I guess the cat is out of the bag. Coopernicus sent me this for my birthday. Woohoo! I am counting such sweet friends. Sunday also happens to be the third blogiversary of House of Lime (Yep, I gave it to myself as a present 3 years ago.) so I am counting all of you who make it so much fun to spend time here. Thanks to one and all.

Cracks about impending decrepitude or trivia about the number 40 or life at 40 are welcome.

I'll be out most of today and tomorrow but I will do my best to get around and thank everyone over the weekend. Here's Dave Matthews performing #40.

  1. Yeah, I found out from G-Man! :)

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY!!!

40 ain't so bad. I was where you are just last November. I survived. Good friends, funny toddlers and a deliciuos meal helped me make it through. :)

You're only as old as you feel..and I mean how you feel mentally, not how old you feel when you try to get out of bed first thing in the morning...oy...

    Big birthday HUGS....

  3. Well, they say life begins at 40.

I don't know about that, but my life got a WHOLE lot more, uh, 'interesting' once I turned 40. . .

  16. No rude old person comments from this corner. In 20 days I turn 53, and there are only two interstate highways I have traveled the entire length of- 71 and 77, so I will have to wait a few years to make any boast like yours.

    Life begins at 40.

    Happy birthday.

  17. Ahhhh to be 40 again... enjoy it- these years are UNREAL!!!

I have an urge to go bake a cake- I'll fax you a BIG piece!

  18. Well, a 40-year-old lime would pretty much have to have a few wrinkles, I would guess. Of course, I'm a 51-year-old dog, so feel free to crack back about mange, toothlessness, fleas, or whatever.

Happy Birthday, Lime! Many, many more, God willing!

A very Happy Birthday for Sunday, Lime! 40? No way!

Perhaps it would be a perfect day to activate that "thingy"... you know, that one. ::wink::

Feel free to email me and I'll be happy to talk you through it over the phone to activate it.

    Cheers!

    Happy birthday - I found out from G-man. :)

My "mother-in-law", which I write in quotes because I'm not actually married, is 65 and seemed much younger to me. She looks more or less her age but something seemed young about her. I finally figured it out and told her in our following conversation. I knew what it was...

    She doesn’t wear elastic-waist pants.

Now you know the secret to youth. ;-)

  23. Happy 4oth Birthday Lime and Happy Blogversary too! Ahh, 40 is a breeze...you know 30 killed me more. Now, I'm 50 something but could still pass for 40 something! :D

I guess it will only be a problem when I'm 80 and can pass for 70ish...ha! No more cougar...just an ancient dinosaur.

Have fun and I'll toast to you tomorrow when I'm with my wino friends.

  24. Well then HAPPY BIRTHDAY kiddo!

Did you know that the European Common Toad has a life span of 40 years? So look at the bright side. You'll out live all the toads.

  27. Happy days! I'm sending you a virtual cake with virtual trick candles that you can't blow out. (Of course, at your age you probably couldn't blow out regular virtual candles [smirk].)

  28. As long as you're still trying to decide whether or not to grow up, you're the perfect age.

If you're sure you're already grown up, it means you're either too young or too old to be any real fun ...

    ReplyDelete
  29. Ohhh!!! A special birthday this weekend! Have a fabulous weekend!
