Friday 55-Chilled Lime

FRIDAY 55-Literally
Winter has finally hit.
Thank God for blankets.
I got my new alpaca blanket.
I still have my favorite old wool blanket.
I have the afghan my aunt made.
I'll use them all.
I am still cold.
Mr. Lime keeps the bedroom at 50.
I confess
when he's gone
I turn it up a notch.

DA COUNT

It's simple.  I'm counting an ample supply of warm blankets, sweaters, and Duluth style hats.  Oh, and a fireplace.  Now excuse me I have a date with a blanket and the fireplace....maybe a mug of cocoa too.

  1. 50 degrees? I'd be wearing a hat and gloves in the house!

  2. We set the house back to 55 overnight. Fosters. . . uh, cuddling.

    And - what's a 'Duluth style' hat?

  3. If my hubby even thinks of putting the thermostat below 68, he's getting the chilly treatment, that is for sure!

  5. Yeesh--it's warmer than that *outside* here (well, 46.) I'd be counting my blankets, long underwear and days till spring! The hot cocoa sounds good, though.

  8. Mmmm, warm blankets, I like those too. Mine is faux fur. :) 50 degrees, hmm, I don't remember Fahrenheit anymore, we set ours to 20 degrees Celsius during the day, 18 at night...looks like I'll have to look it up to see how that compares. We have to wear sweaters in the house, but it's reasonably comfortable. Enjoy your blanket and your hot cocoa. :)

  9. Its unseasonably warm down here, its sucks, unless it gets cold fast I will be mowing the yard far sooner that I can stand.

  10. LOL! That's me! Mr. Sister keeps the thermostat set low night AND day. I sleep under about 4 blankets and wear my "Snuggli" when I'm at the computer during the day.

  12. The brown afghan looks EXACTLY like one MY WIFE has from her younger days. If it turned out that you and she were somehow related, that would explain a lot.

  17. Beautiful afghan! I'm crocheting one similar for a baby shower... only its hot pink, bright lime and cream stripes. =:]
We only heat our bedroom and our family room this time of year. I love wearing sweats and using blankets. But of course, the temp is down because we are cheap and power is not.

  18. In the daytime, when I'm here, I want to house warm. But at night I'm happy to have the temps down in the low 50's. Of course, it doesn't get as cold here as it does there.

  19. Perhaps he wants you to cuddle up to him? :-) Dave

  20. It delights me so much that you still call them Duluth-style hats. Heehee.

Okay, our house is a bit chilly, but 50 degrees in the bedroom is hardcore. You need a nose cozy, too.

  21. Dear Lime,

Love the "Duluth" reference. I am sad to say however that this has been the warmest January in history. We are becoming morally bankrupt without the cold and snow to keep us right.
