Friday 55-Adrift

FRIDAY 55

I charted a course,
set sail with hope.
The winds were with me
until the clouds gathered.
The storm blew.
Waves crashed,
 tossed me mercilessly.
I was blown off course.
When the sky cleared
I found myself adrift,
no breeze to fill my sail.
I'll plot a new course
and paddle
 until the wind returns.

  11. Something to ponder:

In Ancient Greek, Pneuma (πνεύμα) is the word for "wind."

The theological term "Pneumatology" is the study of the Holy Spirit.

That might be comforting OR unsettling, but remember the Lord's promise "never to leave you or forsake you."

  12. ?? I KNOW I left a comment here. . . Did it somehow get sent to your spam?

Good comment, Craver. That metaphorical 'wind' was what I had in mind, as well.

Anyway, I loved this poem. Like Shadow said above, life is a lot like that. . .
