Friday 55-Seismic Shift

FRIDAY 55

Silently
beneath the surface
pressure builds,
plates warp,
cracks form.

Busily,
above the surface,
we go about our day
thinking we know
who we
and they
are,
what we will do,
where we will go.

Suddenly,
the ground rolls,
heaves,
and tosses us
without regard.
We are left wondering
about all
we thought
we knew.

  4. Yeah, if something like that pops up in your yard or mind, you're going to be questioning a lot of things.

  6. Written by someone who has been through an earthquake (or two), I presume! If not, you have an excellent imagination for reality.
