I mentioned that this past weekend was my family reunion. One reason I was so excited to go this year was because my cousin Lisa was going to be there. We only met last year when she came for the first time. We hit it off immediately. We both share a bawdy, irreverent sense of humor. We both discuss things publicly that make our mothers recoil in horror. We both refuse to dye our rapidly greying hair. We both have great racks (she was even willing to flash hers for this post but I guess I am a little bit shyer, hehehe). We both refuse to grow up and forget how to have fun. We kept in contact over the year via email and IMs. We are also the only people in each other's 3D worlds who read the other's blog. We couldn't wait to see each other again. We had a GREAT time. More than once we cracked the same dumb jokes at the same time. We laughed a helluva a lot and mugged for the camera. So this week I present my twin separated at birth, and I think the very coolest cousin I have among a gaggle, herd, mob (what is the collective noun for cousins???) of cousins.
What the heck, you get a twofer this week since there are 2 of us.
Why not an extra, bonus threefer?

You two sound like a scary combination. But it's fun to have family like that... at a family reunion several years ago a gay cousin said to my wife, "I can't believe you called Charles "CHUCK" in front of his mother."
ReplyDeleteBackground: conservative British background, therefore, my name was Charles, as far as my family (especially parents) were concerned... not Chuck, Charlie or Chas. (But, actually, I kinda like "Chuck!")
Wife brazenly back to cousin: "I am having sex with him... I can call him anything I want!"
Cousin laughs: "Hunney, I am so glad you've joined this family... you and I are going to get along just fine!"

Technically, I am covering my gray but that is only because I am a "dye my hair freak" and have covered the natural color for 20 years. I am really close with my cousin too. She has been my best friend for what seems like forever.
ReplyDeleteI remember how much fun it was as a kid to go visit my cousins. We got along great. As we grew older, we grew apart, which is sad. No fallings out or anything, just family and obligations and things. When you're a kid, you don't have silly things like work and raising your own family to get in the way.
