The Limelettes and I spent 4 days on the beach in Maryland. I am perfectly happy reading while I sun my buns. I get hot, hop in the water, swim around, cool off, return to book on the beach. I am a contented Lime. Not wanting to be a crispy Lime, I always use sunblock. This time when I was slathering myself the Limelettes asked me to smear their backs. I obliged and off we went. Only several hours later did I realize I never finished slathering myself. I completely forgot my face and chest. So if you look closely you'll see how appropriate the title of the book I'm reading is...
In a Sunburned Country.

And now onto the sunburn itself...

Happy HNT
Ouch! Lotion, please...
ReplyDeleteHappy HNT, and glad you're enjoying your vacation!
Ouch! I do like a bit of Bill Bryson, though :-)

ReplyDeleteMy sister has been trying to get me to read Bill Bryson for years. What do you think? Should I give it a look?
ReplyDeleteBeen there...done that! Looks like a perfect way to relax though. Happy HNT!
ReplyDeleteLooks fun!
ReplyDeleteExcept the whole being in the sun part

Ouch! I'll be over with the cream later. That's why I don't sunbathe anymore, burn every time.
ReplyDeleteHappy HNT sweetie ;)
As someone wrote before, pure aloe vera is the way to go. It cools and heals, but boy is it expensive.
ReplyDeleteHope it doesn't hurt too much

Nice lines. :D Happy HNT!
ReplyDeletenice!! I have like 6 different tan lines on my back, it is so not cool.
ReplyDeleteOUCH!
ReplyDeleteBeing the fair skinned girl tha I am, I am no stranger to sunburn. If you're prone to peeling (gross, I know) try using Noxema cold cream as lotion for a couple of days while it's still red. I don't know why, but this really helps reduce the flakiness.
I hope the book was good! Happy HNT!
I think the sunburn hurts more than my tattoo does o.O oWcH! Happy HNT.
ReplyDeleteWell, I always said there's nothing better than a Sun-kissed Lime.
ReplyDeleteGet it?
Sun-kissed? Just another way of saying Sunkist. You know? As in the orange manufacturer?
Okay, it was bad.
Happy HNT anyway!
Next time you should burn in a cool design... I mean if you gonna get skin cancer you may as well look funky doing it.... HHNT
ReplyDeleteOwwie!! That looks like it hurts!!
ReplyDeleteHappy HNT!!
Hope you found the book on our country interesting and that the sunburn doesnt hurt too much. Happy HNT!

ReplyDeleteOuch! Gotta pay more attention to important things! :) In Ocean City, were ya? Been a while since I've been there. Prefer Rehoboth for perhaps obvious reasons. :P
ReplyDeleteHAPPY HNT!
I adore Bryson... AND he was born in the great state of Iowa! Have you read 'A Short History of Nearly Everything'? FanTAStic!
ReplyDeleteBanana Boat Aloe Vera Gel. The stuff's incredible and I'm uber picky what I put on my skin. It looks like bright green Dippity Doo.
Good thing you weren't topless. That looks like it got hot quick! Happy HNT!
ReplyDeleteI hope that doesn't hurt as much as it looks like it does! At least you will remember your time at the beach!
ReplyDeleteHappy HNT!
Ahhhh, that looks fun! Except for the sunburn of course. Happy HNT

I am vacationing next week and will try to remember to apply appropriate sunblock. Hope you the sunburn isn't the "so uncomfortable I don't want to move" kind.
