Old man Moon
kept watch over
the lovely Venus
as she roamed
the universe.
He waited
for her,
broke into a grin
when she wandered
close enough.
She brightened
when she saw him,
lingered a bit,
settled in close
to share secrets in the dark.
Together
they winked knowingly
at Earthbound souls
who spied them.

I was admiring how bright she was tonight.
ReplyDeleteLoved your celestial 55 Trini.

ReplyDeleteOh, very cool. . .
ReplyDeleteYou know, the first time I met my birth-mother, Venus and the moon were in conjunction. . .
A spark of cosmic proportions for earthly voyeurs. Love it.

"He broke into a grin and she brightened..." - the words are so appropriate Michelle. An excellent little poem - Dave
ReplyDeleteLovely. Haven't seen the moon clearly for months -the same cloud cover that continues to hide the sun just sits there.
ReplyDeleteGreat pic, well done!
ReplyDeleteRockets and Wings is my 55 this week.
What lovely lines to go with your photo. Like Moannie, it's been to cloudy to notice the beauty here. Thanks for sharing your view though.

ReplyDeleteOh! Big Brother Earth is watching them!
ReplyDeleteWell written!
Beautiful! But, I'm afraid it's too cloudy here to see anything.
