FRIDAY 55
Some think it's an unlucky date.
It's when Australia's worst brush fire hit Victoria,
when the Uruguayan soccer team crashed in the Andes,
when the Costa Concordia sank off the coast of Italy.
Mickey Spillane, Benny Goodman, and Julia Child,
all died Friday the 13th...
But today is lucky...
G-man returns to hosting
Friday 55.
DA COUNT
Some of you may recall that back in April when I was dealing with the scare Ivan gave me, I asked for prayers and good thoughts for my friend G-man. He's been a blog pal for a lot of years and he was facing a very serious, life-threatening health problem. He's had a long, slow road to recovery but today he's back to his blog and next week he goes back to work. I am so grateful my friend was spared and that he's back to being able to enjoy his life.
woohoo...i would say this is def our lucky day in that regards....smiles...and he as well...

ReplyDeleteTrini, it's awesome friends like you that make me look foreward to each and every Friday. From my very first post 200 years ago, you have been my most loyal supporter.
You are a compassionate Angel, and poetically brilliant.
Loved your 55
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for playing, and have a Kick Ass Week-End
Lucky indeed! Very sweet tribute to G-Man.
ReplyDeleteLucky day indeed...what a lovely homecoming post for the host with the most ~
ReplyDeleteWoohoo. A good reason to celebrate!
ReplyDeleteFriday the 13th has always been a lucky day for me. This only shows that the trend continues. G-Man's return is awesome for all of us.
ReplyDeleteClap for the G-Man...
ReplyDeletei don't remember the rest of the lyrics...
Yeah! It's a perfect celebration for G-Man's return!
ReplyDeleteI certainly count it as lucky. That other stuff doesn't count.
ReplyDeleteWell, where I work, since we get paid on the 15th of every month, whenever the 15th falls on Sunday, that makes Friday the 13th. . . payday!
ReplyDeleteAnd so glad that the G-man is back among the living!
Yay for G-Man coming back!
ReplyDeleteIt is a good day indeed. :)
Thanks for doing Friday 55!
Mine's here. :)
Yay.. it sounds pretty lucky to me.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy that G-man is well and back at his blog.Sounds like you really missed him.
ReplyDeleteAh crap, I did not realize it was Friday the 13th. Seriously, I do have the worst luck on those days.
ReplyDeleteTime to hunker down and wait it out.
Mickey Spillane, Benny Goodman, and Julia Child,
ReplyDeleteall died Friday the 13th
By the way, I met Mickey once when I was around ten years old and he did me a big favor.
Lovely welcome back for G-man, lime ! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is very nice and I love that photo! Friday the 13th is G-Man's lucky day. My one daughter was born on Friday the 13th. So it's mine too!! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI def agree - Friday 13 is one lucky day.
ReplyDeleteNice that you're such a good friend to G-man.
I never know the date, so it's never unlucky for me! LOL...didn't even realize what today was!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that G-Man is well. I've always enjoyed his comments on your blog.
It's so good to have him back, I agree--and gpood to see that blog relationships are as real as physical ones in joining people together.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised you didn't mention the Last Supper as an unlucky 13 example, Lime. (Perhaps the original one?)
ReplyDeleteI agree - it's nice to be back in the swing of things with G-Man's Friday 55!
That is wonderful news. I'm happy for G-Man and for your happiness in that regard too. =:]
ReplyDeleteI defended my dissertation on a Friday the 13th. Also had my first post-divorce date on one. I think of it as a lucky day!
ReplyDeleteSo it's not all bad news then if G-Man is back! Here's what I do. I snip all the Friday 13th's out of my calendars and diaries and hop straight to Saturday 14th. Try it. Works a treat.
