HNT-Tie Dye #6-I'm Hip to It

Here we have my oldest piece of tie dye clothing, my beloved shorts. I got them shortly after Mr Lime and I tied the knot and I wore them through all three pregnancies. They are stretched beyond recognition (not unlike the skin you can see peeking through the holes.....stretchmarks are a bonus this week, aren't you all so lucky!) but they are soooo soft and comfy (again, bearing some resemblance to their owner's squishy belly, hips, and thighs). Even though they are faded and ragged I will hang on to them until the elastic gives way and every color has left and they are nothing but strands of frayed thread. I love my frayed and faded shorts.

Those are the best kind of shorts and stretch marks are a sign of accomplishment! I wore my new socks to work on Monday to cheer myself up after the funk of the weekend. Tie dye definitely puts a smile on your face :)

Wear them proudly! Happy HNT!

isn't it nuts how we hold onto stuff like that? i've got a robe that's nearly 20 years old that i feel the same way - pry it out of my dead hands but don't touch it while i'm still here!

Frayed and faded but filled with many loving memories - no wonder you want to hang on to them. Happy HNT!

The hole is exactly at the right spot! This might start a new trend. Don't worry about the stretch marks, I wear mine like a medal of honor.

Happy HNT!

I think you should visit Barefoot Mistress. lol

Lots of stories behind old and favorite clothes. I bet those shorts know some tales.

I have had and still have a few items of clothing like that. Refuse to get rid of them and if I ever was unfortunate enough to go on one of those fashions show I would have to hide them!

Great HNT :)

Hey, they invented these things called a needle and thread...

Word on the street is that they're perfect for mending holes.

Hey Lime! I have a pair of pj bottoms that look almost like your shorts except mine are solid instead of tie dyed! Hope all is going well for you! I miss you!

I think everyone should have a piece of clothing that they could become so attached to.

I have a pink blanket like that. My husband sometimes gets annoyed because I wrap up in it before crawling under the covers and then he gets all tangled in it by morning.

Settle down there! LOL
That reminds me of the "frayed knot" joke.

Love your shorts. If something's comfy I keep it until it can't be worn any more and if it had great memories I turn it into something else.

Phwoar!

Nice to see someone else keeps hold of clothes until they fall apart :)

Groovey shorts- when and if they ever far apart, framing I think would be in order. Garments such as those should never retire- the threads are timeless, filled with love and fond memory :)

Lime.....you simply must make a NEW pair of tie-dye shorts to replace these. They are tired, and bustin' at the seams....
