Top O the Mornin'

Alright, tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day and my great-grandfather came from Ireland during the potato famine, and by birth I'm really half-Greek, I grew up Pennsylvania Dutch, I fell in love with Trinidad...so all that means....not a damned thing, in terms of Irish pedigree but hey, any excuse for a party right? Also, I have nothing creative written nor do I have any thoughtful observances for Da Count. So today you get some Irish themed drivel in the form of quizzes.

You Are A Rowan Tree

You are full of charm and cheer. You light up a room. (Sounds like I should be a Christmas tree.)
And while you crave attention, you do it without ego. (An unpretentious Christmas tree.)
You are an interesting mix of contradictions - and very unpredictable.
You are both dependent and independent, calm and restless. (You know, this is a horoscope, we've got to make it general enough to cover all the bases.)
You are passionate, emotional, gregarious, and (at times) unforgiving.

You're 20% Irish

You're not Irish. Not even a wee bit.
Not even on St. Patrick's Day!
(I already admitted that, any particular reason you feel the need to rub it in? I'm detecting some real bias here...)

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Celebrate With This Virtual Shot of Whiskey! (It's Jameson's at least. Do I get Irish points for that?)

To: My Blogroll
From: Lime
UPDATE: I think I ought to get some sort of Irish bonus point because William Butler Yeats is one of my favorite poets. So to go with the Jameson's here is Yeats' 'Drinking Song.'

Wine comes in at the mouth
And love comes in at the eye;
That's all we shall know for truth
Before we grow old and die.
I lift the glass to my mouth,
I look at you, and I sigh.

My Celtic Horrorscope...
You Are A Cedar Tree
You are elegant yet unpretentious, modest yet vivacious.
Attractive and friendly, you are full of imagination but might lack passion.
You abhor vulgar people, and you don't like anything in excess.
You have little more ambition than to live a calm life and enjoy nature.
You create a content, peaceful atmosphere for others.

Riiiiight, Im not even going to comment on that, we'll just let it ride.
As for gifts?
Happy St. Patrick's Day!

You are quiet and shy at times, but you have lots of charm and appeal.
You are quite attractive: your pleasant attitude, flirtatious smile, and adventurous spirit draw people in.
Sensitive and loyal in love, you want to love and be loved.
You are a faithful and tender partner - who is generous in sharing your many talents.
You love children, and you need an affectionate partner.

You know what! I took the test and it says;
You're very Irish, and most likely from Ireland.
(And if you're not, you should be!)

Well, Norwegians and The Irish has a lot in common you know. Norwegian Vikings was the first to settle down there, we drink beer like like water, we love sheep (even the head boiled) and we love sauna. So what can you expect?

Wishing you a great St. Patric's day tomorrow and when you get rid of the headache; a wonderful and smooth Sunday:-)

I'm an Elm Tree

You are easygoing and a pleasure to be around.
Good looking, you have a pleasant shape and tasteful clothes.
You demand little in others, but you tend not to forgive their mistakes.
Dominant, you like to lead and enjoy making decisions for others.
Overall, you are cheerful, honest, noble, generous, and funny.

Pretty accurate.

LOL - I'm 30% Irish - which is actually more Irish than I really am.

And I bought myself a Shamrock Stout!

I already know that I'm 0% Irish and 100% Dutch. And if I was a tree, I'm pretty sure I'd have Dutch elm disease. BTW, Pennsylvania Dutch is German, in case you didn't know.

seamus, bottom;s up!

diesel, right you are on the PA dutch/german thing. i'm impressed that you know that. there are a lot of east coast folks who aren't aware of it. then again, i reckon the bona fide dutch don;t much care for having the germans confused with them. blame it on the english for not understanding what we meant when we said we were from deutschland.

Fun post. I'll have to take the quizzes when I'm at a different computer.
Cheers!

I am 40% Irish... probably because I don't tan well.

I am also a fir tree:
You love anything beautiful, and you have extraordinary taste.
And while it's hard for you to trust, you care deeply for those close to you.
You are a social butterfly, and you have many friends.
You handle stress well - and you are a master at relaxing after a hard day.
Overall, you are modest, talented, unselfish, and very reliable.
... gosh :D!

And...
Here's a Virtual Green Beer (Watch Out for the Green Puke!)
To: Lime
From: Cosima
Nooo, that's just wrong. I would never give you anything that looks like puke. I am not Irish enough for that.

But, hey, you quoted Yeats! I love that. His tower in Ireland is covered in pigeon poo, btw.
