No 55 or Da Count this week. I've been scurrying around for a day trying to get ready to go to Georgia to take care of my mother-in-law. If you recall, some time ago she fell and broke her wrist and pelvis. She comes home from the hospital today and I am scheduled to fly out early tomorrow to stay with her for a week.
This is not meant to be a complaint but I have a few concerns. My back is still not right. It's better than it was but I have been down this road enough time to know I'm at the point where if I don't pace myself I could completely screw things up. So I want to be useful to my MIL but I also don't want to make my own situation a whole lot worse.
As the time approaches I am also wondering how things will be going interpersonally because we don't have an especially close relationship. At times it has been more than a bit contentious. things have been better recently and I am glad for that. A week of just the two of us, both coping with varying levels of pain...could be very interesting.
Finally, we currently have about 3 inches of snow, we are expected to get about 6 more then ice on top of all that. It's not supposed to stop until tomorrow morning after my flight leaves. It's a 2 hour drive to the airport when weather conditions are good. After running the car into a ditch last week and doing $300 worth of damage to it I am less than thrilled to be heading into the city in the pre-dawn hours during such lovely conditions.
Any and all prayers and good energy for the well being of me, my MIL, and my family while I am gone, as well as me just getting there in one piece are most appreciated.
I can't say that I will be posting at all while I am down there. If I do it will be sporadic and I know I won't have a lot of chance to get around to all of you. I should be back to regular posting the first week in March.
UPDATE: 11:30am...We've got 6 inches already and the worst has supposedly not even started. ugh.

For you Lime, anything. Prayers on the way for you, the mil and the entire crew. Have a safe trip, no surprises. Maybe some of the bad ick will miss you so you trip to the airport will not be so bad, lately our bad weather has been a bust. I hope your weather misses you too.
Safe trip, don't kill each other, looking forward to your triumphant return in a week. Just think, only 1 week after you return and, if your local community observes Daylight Savings Time, time to spring forward with those clocks. Dark school runs but nice and bright evenings. Than spring is just around the corner. You can make it.
Lime, please take care of yourself, sending you everything in the line of safety, good health and warm relations. You will be missed, hurry back X
You have my prayers and good thoughts for a safe and gentle journey.
I wonder, are you going to be any where near my stomping grounds? :)
wishes for safe travels, relief for your back, and patience for the MIL.
It will at least be a little warmer down there.
I think it's wonderful that you are going to help, but traveling with an out-of-whack back doesn't sound fun.
Have a safe trip! Give yourself plenty of time to get to the airport!
Oh good LORD! Uh...is there any way OUT of this? Such as making your HUSBAND go take care of his mother? Oh...nevermind! Be careful and take care of yourself honey!
And,I wish you the best with your MIL...I know how she can be.
Remember she cannot walk, but you can run, very very very far away....make sure your room is in the attic so she cant possibly make it up there to harrass you.
I'm sorry, maybe I'm not being nice, but I seem to remember someone not being very nice to you.....just saying, im shutting up now...
PS If she is mean to you I'm going to send rat poison laced chocolates to her, and I mean it.
We were forecast to get 3-6 inches overnight and then, freezing rain, ice, on top of it all this afternoon to early evening sometime. So far, I'd estimate we have about 3-4 inches, doesn't appear to still be snowing right now but this morning, they upped the snow accumulations to 9-12 inches followed by the ice on top of it. Lovely. NOT! I take it back - just checked and it's still snowing just so fine that you can't see it from my computer chair. Have a safe trip in the morning to the airport and then, hope the flight goes well too. Once landed, I'm putting my money on you that you'll figure out some way to handle things there.
Sending you positive thoughts. Take care.
I popped across to read your 55, sorry to hear you and your MIL are not feeling good. Sending you positive thoughts and Reiki (if you care to accept it). x
Oh Good Luck! Taking Care of others can be very trying. XoXoX!

*Sigh* This is not good. I'm sorry about the situation. I'll think good thoughts of you and for you.
As requested and more than deserved, all best wishes and positive thoughts on the way to you.
And here I am feeling guilty hat out temp is 23 today and will be 30+ tomorrow. Stuff is MELTIN!
But on the brighter side...I wish you all the good luck and prayers that all goes well. I know about back problems so please be careful. I updated my blog.
I will most definitely be praying for you and your family. I will also pray for your back. My dad has had back problems for years so I have saw what you are going through and it takes the slightest little thing to put you back down while you are still mending from the first bout.
As far as the weather goes, I would love for it to be doing that here. We haven't had a good snow storm in a long time and we need it to help kill off some of this sickness and the insects in the summer.
I will have you in my heart and on my mind Michelle, just be careful!
Good luck with your MIL!
I understand your worries and my prayers will be with you and the rest of the family. Safe travels!
Safe journey, my friend.
I'm sure your MiL will appreciate your being there. All best wishes for a safe journey. Take care.
You'll be in my prayers, Lime. Family visits can be really stressful, and when you're in pain, that's daunting. But I have faith that you will handle it all beautifully!
One step at at time...all the way around...with your MIL, your back, and the travel. Everything will b e as it's meant to be...just e kewl. Will miss you while you're away and will keep the good thoughts going...enjoy the warm weather!!! (I'm jealous) - you going to be anywhere near KFarmer???
That sounds awful.. The sickness in the family I mean...
Take care of yourself too Lime! I hope and pray that you both recover fast.
What Keyser said.......hubby has agoraphobia or some other crippling ailment that HE cannot go and take care of his mother?
Sending you lots and lots of good energy. God bless Michelle and her MIL. God bless Michelle and her MIL. God bless Michelle and her MIL. I am OCD. I believe if you say it 3 times, it sticks.
How nice and good of you to pay her a visit - don't forget to take care of yourself too! Wishing you a safe trip!
Prayers and hugs. Someone was trying to tell me yasterday that it was no longer snowing in the U.S.A. I told them to check their information a bit more carefully.
Good luck on the drive, good luck on the flight, and especially good luck in your relationship with the MIL. Lest I forget, good luck with your back, also.
...Hmmm, I've never heard you complain about 6 inches before!!
xoxox
I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.
Lime- first of all, I will keep you in my prayers. travel safe
Up here we have only gotten three inches of snow once this year and it was gone in just a few days.
I love it up here in Gods country.
I don't envy you this task. Good thoughts being sent your way!
Best wishes on your trip and have a safe return trip as well. Snow and planes and cars for that matter don't mix well so take it slow and steady.
