I planned to do a post about the way we cook our turkey because it's a bit unusual. However, this morning I came across this video. I was stopped in my tracks. So instead of that I am doing Da Count early this week as I consider how blessed I am.
Please take a few moments to watch it and consider your response. I believe there is a special place in heaven for Brenden Foster.
UPDATE (11:00 am): I found this report from CNN which gives a little more information on Brenden and an additional small wish he had. May he rest in peace and may his mother find comfort in knowing how many people's lives he has touched in such a profound way.

Lime, a beautiful count on the perfect day. He did it and did it with grace... and that spread to those who were moved to fulfill his wishes.
Thank you and a great Thanksgiving to you and your family.
That is so touching. An eleven year old moving people with a wish. That is what I called a life lived fully!
Through my tears I wish Brenden peace. What a larger than life child and this world was too small for his loving soul.We all can learn from children... Thank you sweets for sharing that.
A beautiful wish. Perfect choice Lime.
It's too bad that the kid is gone, but what a way to go! That touched my heart, because feeding the hungry is a passion for my wife and me.
That is a very touching story and one that should teach us all some lessons. Out of the mouths of babes and dying children comes the true message of love for all mankind.
I saw this boy's story the other day, but it brought tears to my eyes again when I just saw it. He truly was amazing.
Surely an angel has been among us.
Bless that little boy.
Happy Thanksgiving Lime!
I heard hear a little about this on the radio but I really do not follow the news all that much. That is incredible and such a selfless act that he did. A wish for others and not for himself, not for his Mom, but a wish for complete strangers.
There goes the tears...
Thank you for posting this and thank you to the powers that be who brought a wonderful child like this to help reminds us what life is really all about.
Happy Thanksgiving Lime. Looking forward to how you cook the turkey if you are up to posting it sometime.
What a wonderful remnder of what really matters and for us to be thankful.
I saw it this morning... and hesitated to watch because I KNEW it would make me cry. Seeing it here, it did. What a wonderful little fella... Good count dovey, and Happy Thanksgiving to all~
kfarmer, you're not the only one that cried. you could tell that he was amazing and had a wonderful soul.
thx for sharing lime.
Now I know why I will never make good copy for the evening news. If I were in the same situation I'd be doing my damndest to find a good time and go out with a bang.
I hope that what the kid wanted doesn't end up being a one shot deal. That would be philanthropist version of wham, bam, thank you, ma'am.
NYD, I was think about that. It would be nice if they could turn this into some sort of national yearly thing. It sure is a worthy cause.
Heart Wrenching.....
Oh my gosh! That is so sad! Made me want to hug my little one and not let go.
Thanks for sharing this one, Lime. What an amazing young man.
