Da Count in 55-My Brother

FRIDAY 55

There once was a sister who had a brother she loved very much.

Sometimes he was annoyed to be the little brother.

Sometimes he WAS the annoying little brother.

When brother and sister got along it was good.

The brother didn't speak to the sister for many years.

When they reconciled I was VERY glad.

DA COUNT

The estrangement and subsequent reconciliation both occurred many years ago. Nonetheless, each time I have a conversation with my brother that is easy and comfortable I am deeply thankful for it. Yesterday provided one of those moments and the topic of conversation revealed even more to be thankful for. I love him and I am so proud of him.

I am not posting current pictures of him because I think he would be less than thrilled by that....the old pictures were already on my hard drive and well....sometimes big sisters are annoying too.

Did you know I have a brother, too?

We get along swell, he just lives far away.

Have a great weekend Lime.

I can totally see your current self in that second picture from the top! What great photos, Lime!

I have a little brother too - we are not close, but don't have a problem with each other. Just nothing in common.

My brothers didn't speak to each other for 8 years, even though sometimes they were in the same room! It broke my heart. My heart was mended the day they started talking again. :)

Wonderful 55 and I love the photos. x

My brother and I usually "hated" each other growing up. We get along okay, but it's not like we go out of the way to see each other.

Someday I may reconcile with my brother, but it may never happen based on what he did. We haven't talked to each other for seven years now.

I hope he's well.

What a lovely post and adorable pics - soooo cute!

It reminds me of my childhood too - I am 3,5 year older than my sister - thanks for taking me down the memory lane :-)

Btw: Sorry I have not been around that much lately. I have red through your posts though and just love the one with yours and your Mom's application hand works!

For as long as I can remember my father refused to speak to his mother. Not until the day she died. He still won't speak to his sister either. Not sure why, but it makes me sad to think about it.

I'm happy you and your brother patched things up. I loved the pictures :)

Going through those sibling issues right now with Spoilboy and Wiggles. Spoilboy hates when Wiggles trashes his room and Wiggles thinks Spoilboy gets away with too much.
I ask Spoilboy how he knows his sister was in his room since it always looks trashed and I simply tell Wiggles her brother is older. I get blank, slightly unbelieving looks from both concerning my responses.

I'm glad you reconciled. It's not good having a sibling that you're not talking to, so glad it's all good now. :)

Hooray! I hope my son and daughter are always close.

Oh! So! Cute!! I loved the birthday cake one.
And whatever the reason for the estrangement, I am so happy for you that you have reconciled. I keep telling Snickers she's going to love her little brother someday just like I love mine.
(Even now she's proclaiming she never will) :D

Okay, and how did you escape having a purple cake?? ;)

i'm glad your 55 had a happy ending. i have not spoken to my brother in about 3 years. i feel bad about it at times cos i don't get to see my niece & nephew often, but there are things that they do that i cannot stand by & watch. he & his wife thinks the world owes them, and i hope they get over that someday.
