Not a 55 or a Count-Alone

Secretly
silently
slowly
receding.
Tresses trail.
Velvet veil
isolates
insulates
darkens
incubates.

This is actually something I posted about 2 years ago. I'm lacking inspiration once again. The spousal unit and progeny are leaving tonight for a couple of days. I'm conflicted. Part of me wants to go along. Part of me wants to spend the time alone productively. Part of me wants to go explore. Part of me wants to hibernate. We shall see...

It's hard to do anything but hibernate in this kind of weather. Enjoy whatever you decide to do, Lime.

Hibernation sounds pretty good to me.

Well, I bet they are glad they are not taking the VW Bus!! :) Although that bus did seem to bring you some pretty great memories!! ;)

May the Lord give you wisdom and fill your heart with gladness.

Hey, allow me to put on my artist cap for a moment and compliment you on the top photograph. The light-soaked image is outstanding!

You are, as usual, lovely. And here's some good news. You don't have to be inspired today. I have completed the interview you sent me. Just send every reader of your blog (whom you don't mind losing forever) over to my place!

Yeah, I'm always conflicted when Molly and the kids are off somewhere, and I get a little 'free time' (never for 2 days, tho; I'm tempted to be envious). I can catch up on my ridiculously backlogged reading list, which is always nice, but you know, I miss 'em, too. . .

Well how about you pretend that your house is a vacation hideaway because I know they took all the cash with them, leaving you just some old leftovers in the fridge.

So, time for some soft lighting, or disco lighting, or both. And some meditative music, or some dance tunes or both.
And put on that green dress, turn the heater up all the way, make bitch pop, paint your toenails, watch a chick flick, chat on the phone for hours, bake some chocolate chip cookies and eat as many as you want, run through the house naked, hog the bed, snore, blog, play literati, chat online, etc.

As you can see, I am good at being alone!
:P
Have a fun weekend.

Ah for shame. I know that kind of dilemma myself. A quick recharge of the batteries is probably for the best though, and in any case your productivity is evidenced by your Furiousball interview - certainly a great start to my day.
Cheers and happy weekend!

cocotte, you got that right, and with flannel sheets and a nice new pellet stove to keep me warm and cozy inside it's even more tempting.

citizen, yeah, it does, doesn't it?

snowelf, oh good gravy, lots of good memories yes, but definitely not up to the task.

craver, thank you both for the benediction and the compliment

furiousball, yep, just trying to decide what i like

suldog, thank you kindly. the interview was as hilarious as i expected. thanks so much for playing along.

desmond, glad i am not the only one who feels that way.

s, i'm fine at being alone, just this time around feeling kind of meh about it. pity you live a continent away, i think we could have fun!

maddy, a recharge is definitely in order.

It is a shame you can not split the weekend into four pieces and do a little bit of everything. Hybernating, though it sounds fun, hopefully you can find something else even better.

I have started the Interview and will probably post it on Sunday. I just am not sure where my evenings go these days.

Sending you bug hugs to help you make up you mind. I know we were taking VW bus but bug hugs sounded better. :)

By the way, love your non 55. It so fits the pictures and you decision you need to make today I think.

Sounds like you have choices in many directions. That in itself is count worthy. BTW... I love this re-post.

Go with them but in the trunk so it isolates you and write blog posts by candlelight in the dark along the trip so you'll be productive and then explore and find a closet and then hibernate there. That should cover it...

barman, no hurries on the interview...in your time.

lecram, yes i believe you are right. thanks

ve, i should have asked you first!

This does not seem uninspired to me!! And it seems like you have a sea of opportunities this weekend. Embrace the possibilities...thats often the best part!

I think you should take the time for yourself and maybe do a little productive work as well as a little hibernating!

Don't we all have those days...undecided what to do with the precious private time bestowed upon us...hell, don't do a damn thing...stay in your pjs all day and veg out! :D

This post just makes me want to break out in song!

"Her long blonde [brown] hair
Hangin' down around her knees
All the cats who dig striptease
Prayin' for a little breeze
Her long blonde [brown] hair
Falling down across her arms
Hiding all the lady's charms
Lady Godiva..."

Nicely done, Lady Lime! :-) Enjoy your weekend, whatever you decide to do....

Spend the time alone, productively exploring hibernation! Or go along...Hmm, not much help, am I? Hey-I actually put one up myself!

Moosekahl said...

That's a beautiful hibernation pose but I vote for an exploration, with a camera in hand, of course! Embrace the time to yourself however you end up spending it. Love ya!

Hope you are revelling to the fullest in whatever you chose.
Live it and love it.

I felt this very same conflict this weekend. My significant other went up to northern Arizona and I couldn't decide to go or not to go. As it turned out I stayed home and went for a hike by myself (that's a whole story on its own), got to think alone for a change, and stayed in my jammers half a day Friday. the S.O. came home early cuz he missed the warmth. (It's cold in northern Arizona.) Awe shucks!

By now I suppose they're back... Hope you did whatever you needed to to do recharge.

Heh. If I had everybody out of the house, I'd catch up on my sleep.

My spouse and kids were all gone Saturday afternoon and after a relaxing lunch I felt a strong urge to write. Of course as soon as the laptop was ready I started getting phone calls from people wanting to talk and talk for a long time. Had to take all the calls since I was on call at the hospital this weekend and anyone of those calls could have been my work. As soon as I was rid of the fifth caller the wife and kids returned home.

It might be two years old, but the words are still as fresh and wonderful as when first written.

for some reason I just can't get the Who's "Magic Bus" out of my head.
