I have yet to see a robin or the first sprouts of a crocus but yesterday when I picked Diana up from school she remarked that our favorite seasonal ice cream stand was open for business. The sun was shining, she reminded me that this time next year she will be away at college, and asked for some mother/daughter bonding over ice cream. Yes, she was doing a sell job and I bought....ice cream cones for each of us. So for this week's Slice of Lime I present my first cone of the season. (Yeah, she caught me at a bad moment when I took a big bite and was trying to smoosh the ice cream back on the cone so it didn't fall off....this sure isn't the first unflattering picture I've ever posted of myself.)

Our Favorite place opened last week-end as well....
Thats right....No comment about how fantastic you look sucking on that Ice Cream Cone. I'd say licking but I see no tongue!!!
Thanks....G
Ice cream is one of the best ways to break in the warm weather! It's been just gorgeous here too--what a spirit lift! :)

Robins have descended ALL over around here... Since we're not THAT far away, I'm sure it won't be long now.
Friday is FREE Rita's Water Ice day here.... Woot!
:-)
we've got daffodils already
(quite unbelievably)...
I've yet to see a robin, but somehow don't identify them with spring... you'd be lucky to see a songbird of any type these days (in Limeyland, obviously)... they all seem to be dying :-<....
Yes, a sure sign of spring is the opening of ice cream stands. Rita's Water Ice is the official sign of the first day of spring!
Welcome, Spring!
mmmmmm
ice cream....
Yes! Ice Cream! That will be one of my big treats once Lent is over (I gave up all dairy - well, almost all dairy.)
Argh comment eaten by blogger.
I give up.
:P
Happy Slice of Lime day!
See, Id've never known you were 'backwashing' yer excess ice cream if you hadn't told me; sometimes, you know, you're ahead to just let us draw our own interpretations of the photographic evidence. . .
And yeah, spring. . . Had my first outdoor bike ride of the season last weekend.
Aaaaahhhhh. . .
Spring has already sprung here with my son dragging out the lawn mower for the first time yesterday. He doesn't know it yet but he will be learning the proper use of the weed eater and that damn loud leaf blower this summer. I intend to retire from most yard work until he leaves for college.
As for ice cream stands, they were gobbled up and replaced with trendy and expensive Starbucks-like shop in which a simple cone costs $7.00.
Caught at a bad moment? No way!
At least your unshaven leg wasn't in the frame! hehehehe
A few crocuses have pushed their way up in front of my house. Hang in there... spring is coming!
This may be mean, but I laughed when I saw this picture of you, because the sign in the background makes it appear as though you have impish horns. :-P
Oh, Oh I better check to see if my ice cream place is opened up yet! They also serve some good sandwiches too! Now I want some ice scream!!
YUMMY!!! I saw someone sitting outside Scoops last night as Halo and I walked to the ol watering hole and though it was about time to go get some ice cream :)
Wonderful post!
I think the pic is kinda cute actually... all puckered up like that. Cheers!
Actually, this picture of you sucking on a cone is rather hot.
wow! Ice cream! I love that too!
its getting pretty warm here in LA too!
& I posted an 'almost' thursday portrait today :)
I so want a big scoop of ice cream right now...that looks very yummy!
yeah ..u go girl!!
keep the scream cream spirit on!:-)
Yippee! Like the first robin, the site of the first ice cream cone signals spring is here to stay.
You've got me drooling and I haven't even had coffee yet.
I'm probably the only person on the planet who doesn't care for ice cream....but YEAH for Spring!
And no robins? We've had them all over for a couple of weeks now!
Seriously. She should be a salesperson or something. She is a genius! Wow.
:)
You make a sexy ice creamer. Or would that be ice screamer?
we've had robins for a month now...must be those cracked out west coast robins....
Had my first cone today!
Our favorite place is currently encrusted with an inch of ice. Once they can actually OPEN THE DOOR on it, I'm sure the place will be ready for business.
Until then, I'll enjoy your picture...which makes me think you have many, many hidden talents.
When you dont post new stuff, we worry about the zipline type of stuff.....
