The Joys of Parenting Teens...

...would explain how I can simultaneously be incredibly proud of my two girls for their recent accomplishments and yet want to stand on a table and scream at them for some especially boneheaded and irresponsible choices.

Seriously...well done, congratulations!!

and...

WHAT in the bloody hell were you thinking?!

Congrats to the gals.

Don't be silly, Lime. We must never stand on a table to scream at our kids. It is much safer to use a non-swivel chair.

I must remember that when I tell my kids about bonehead choices in my own past, that I complete the story by telling them about the consequences or how things could be better today if I made better choices instead.

I'm developing my talent to tune out the world even further because of my son turning 13. That and buying rolls of cheap bubble rap for the therapeutic valve popping the little bubbles one by one. Its got a Zen quality.

Congratulations, girls, now behave!

I'm pretty sure they'll grow out of one of those sets of behaviors.

Woe to Adult Boneheads. Praise to Adult Achievers.

Once, all four of my kids were in their teens. That lasted about six months till the oldest turned twenty. Good times. Good times.
