FRIDAY 55
The beast gripped her skull in its claws. She felt each claw pierce her skin, muscles, and bone as the wretched creature peeled back each layer seeking her brain. One inhumane hand pinned her head, the other tore at the flesh. Finally the beast sank its fangs deep and began its slow feast.

Another fucking migraine.
DA COUNT
The 55 is a repeat but migraines kill creativity so you're getting a rerun. Hell, they kill rational thought and my self-censor button too but I'll spare you the spew. I'm certainly not counting the migraine but I'm counting that in the last year the doc and I seem to have hit upon some preventative measures that have helped considerably. I'm also counting that although one of the monsters slipped through the line of defense yesterday it was payday so there was enough money to order pizza. I'm off to the chiropractor to try to knock out the remnants of this thing.
UNRELATED UPDATE (10:18 am): Just before I went to the chiropractor I got a call for a second interview for the library assistant position. Monday morning at 9:00 am I go meet them face to face. EEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!! More excitement, more nerves. Ok, between the headache and the jitters I am about ready to puke. Thanks for the healing thoughts and all prayers, positive thoughts, and good mojo are once again appreciated. (Craver, I think the mojo slipped inot the couch cushions.)

Scary 55. I don't get migraines but headaches are bad enough.
Shit~ Get better so you can stand the sound of your new toy....
That was horrible. Dragons don't get those but we do have nightmares. Great 55
Great, if intense, 55.
I haven't had a migraine in ages. I'm knocking wood.
Ugh.. I had a killer migraine yesterday too. I hope you're feeling a lot better, and wouldn't mind hearing about those preventatives sometime.
Oh lime, lime, lime...I had a two day migraine last week, I am so with ya. My last one wasn't the worst, I mean, there was no puking involved, but it did drag on for two days, which sucked really bad.
Feel better soon!
HUGS...
Molly gets migraines, too. Not terribly often (thanks be to God), but when they happen, she's right out of circulation. . .
Never seen an F-bomb from you before, so I have a sense of how you're suffering. . .
{{{hugs}}} (but only if they won't make it worse)
Get well, my friend. . .
wow, i've never had a migrane, but you sure descibed a mean beast here... i hope it disappears soon!
M, thank you so kindly for your speedy response on my blog. You're too sweet. Go take care of that head of yours. I'm sending healing, pain-free thoughts your way.
Good luck, kid. MY WIFE gets them, too.
Nicely turned at the end. I know migraines are like that. Terrible things.
Thank You Trini for not puking!
Thanks for playing...
Thanks for your friendship...G
Brilliant description of a migraine.
Good luck with your job interview, hope it goes well for you. :)
Royal Pink
I've been dealing with migraines more than ever before lately. Not the least bit enjoyable, and perfectly described.
So exciting to get the face-to-face interview! Wishing you lots of luck!
i don't get migraines, but my ex sure did. they suck, very sorry - hope that noggin feels better soon
You found my mojo?! I'm so relieved! Sorry to hear that it's not working. Check the expiration date.
My own migraines leave reddish-pink spots around my eyes and nose. It's very strange.
I want to recommend a foot rub, but migraines are highly resistant to any form of relief until they have completely unleashed their wrath upon the host. When I have had migraines, the only thing that sounded like it might offer relief was a bucket of water. Here's how it works: I hold my head under the water until the pain goes away. Thankfully, my wife and kids vetoed my suggestion, and that's why I can leave silly comments here today.
Perhaps you have a migraine because you are tense about the job?
That is fabulous! I bet your gonna get the job, I have a feeling about this.
Wow, I know youre gonna love having pizza more often than just payday.
Feel better soon!
You captured the HELL of a migraine in 55 words - fabulous!
A VERY apropos 55. I'm glad mine have subsided.
Gook luck with the interview - you'll knock 'em dead!
The interview invite is way cool. Like I said, they'd be fools not to hire you. . .
But. . . you'll still come and lime with us, won't you?
Boo for migraines!!! But YAY for getting a second interview!!! Woot Woot!! :)
I hope you're feeling better soon!
Wow that is a powerful one... and spot on! I have not had one in a while, but I fear that beast. Wish I could help. :(
Hey, my verification word is pucks... puck is my cat, or I should say, I am puck's person.
Holy crap.... my mom had horrendous migraines; that the gods she didn't pass that on to me. Feel better, and good luck on Monday!!!
A brilliant 55 which hits close to home, at least my past home. Michele, I'm so sorry you have to deal with those hideous migraines. Did I ever tell you that once I went to an exhibition of paintings and drawings inspired by people's migraines and I actually had one the day after? Shudder. The art in your post reminds me of that experience.
Good luck on the job possibility! I can see you, surrounded by books, dispelling the image of the straight-laced librarian.
Whoot! On the second interview. I will continue to keep it on my prayer list. Good luck!
Yaaaaay! about the interview. Sending more positive thoughts and prayers for both demolition of the migraine and for success of the interview!
Re: update....
weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
do you get weather related migraines? it was windy and stormy here the last couple days and i had to take some migraine medicine yesterday.
congratulations on the 2nd interview. fingers crossed for you!
Sending the warm and healing Viking vibration for a relaxing weekend and a good luck on your interview!
Damn, sorry about the brain buster. I don't know what causes yours but I had a friend I worked with years ago and every time I felt a "weather front" coming through, I would tell her (I felt the pressure) and she would take her medicine. We were a tag team like that. Hope yours is gone by now...
Good luck with the interview :) If those folks have half a lick of sense, you will be hired~ I mean come on... Who would not want a Limey as a co-worker? I sure would :)
Sweet!
Best of luck. I hope you get that job. It will be fun.
As for migraines, I got one in my entire life. I wanted to take a shotgun and shoot myself in the head. I feel bad for anyone who gets migraines.
I was actually describing a migraine to someone the other day who never got one. I described it as a headache that's so bad you literally don't have your full vision, it hurts to open your eyes, it hurts to see light, and it hurts to exist. Or something along those lines.
Weird thing is, I haven't had one since I started drinking coffee.
I can completely relate. Hate migraines. HATE THEM.
Hope you are feeling better, I've had a few migraines in my life and even after the worst has past I still felt like shit for a couple of days.
Good luck on the second interview, working in a library would be great.
Why, I wonder, do migraines occur? Why some people and not others? It is a club of which I am grateful not to be a member, but am aware of the pain it causes as my mother often suffered them.
Feel better soon, and good luck re the job.
veri word is: demeetro which, with endro-as a prefix might have some bearing:
What are the preventative measures you can take?
And, again, good luck!
