Slice of Lime-Sleepy Time

Sweet Pea brought her mommy to visit me earlier this week. It was the first time my kids had a chance to meet the baby and they quite enjoyed that. It is generally agreed that Sweet Pea's family needs to move back to our area so we can spoil her.

Sweet Pea, her mommy, and I went out for lunch. On the way home my friend needed to make a quick stop at a store so I agreed to stay in the car with the baby. Sweet Pea began to fuss and cry. I found the pacifier and cooed to her in her car seat. She quickly fell asleep, sucking the pacifier and curling her little pink fist around my finger. Have I mentioned how lovely it is to be an auntie?

Is there anything more peaceful looking than a sleeping baby?

Seeing that pacifier makes me want a donut.

Seeing an area rug makes me want a donut, too, though.

She is LOVE.

I love the tiny baby hand wrapped around the grown-up finger. Evocative of so many really deeply human things. . .

WordVer = 'spoort'; one could take that in so many directions. . .

(laughing) I forgot what I was going to say when I saw Moannie's comment. I suppose there is something special that a lady can feel, that I will never know.

I like carrying babies, and it moves me to feel how light they are and to consider that this is one day going to be a complicated grown up... somebody's boss or parent or something, you know?

Love the pictures. The finger grasp shot is very cool.

We usually go pretty lucky when we went out to eat with D1. She slept her way through our meals, which was fine by us. The sleeping baby shot reminded me of those days.

The only thing that comes to my mind that might possibly be a tad better than a sleeping baby might be an autistic toddler who has been screaming bloody-blue murder and generally having one royal fit about something no one around him understands and now, he's finally exhausted himself and done a "crash and burn" in his bed! Otherwise, by far and away, sleeping babies are one of the best and most beautiful sights ever! Love the pictures and they proved your point.

I just love that picture of her tiny little fingers wrapped around yours. I love them when they are that small. They smell so good and you can snuggle with them all you want.

What awesome pictures.... take tons as you well know, they grow too fast!!!

I imagine it must be different from an Auntie's perspective.... but I always thought it was a really good thing that my boys looked so dang cute when they were sleeping... because some days... that was the only thing that bought them another day!!!! :)
