Update

I want to thank all those who offered words of support, prayers, and positive thoughts for my job interview on Friday. It is a daunting thing to try to re-enter the workforce after so much time at home. It was a phone interview I had less than 24 hours notice for. I was a nervous wreck beforehand and was kind of crazed after it but I felt calm during the actual interview which last for about a half hour. I know I lack some of the experience they are looking for but my educational qualifications exceed the minimum considerably. I know I gave strong answers toward the end of the interview so hopefully departing on a strong note counts in my favor. They said it would likely be about 2 weeks before I hear anything about the next round of interviews. I know a few of you were especially anxious to know how things went so I wanted to give a brief update and again thank everyone for the expressions of support. It is so deeply appreciated.

That's a positive. If they were not still interested they would have cut you out then. Cool beans Lime! I'll just keep you in my prayers til it's all over and done.

Still crossed fingers for you...

I heard back via email from one of my own recent interview - rejection. Hard, but at least they did let me know. Keep on trying.
I look at it as great practice for the next interview :)

Hum, I have never had a phone interview. Is that how things are these days?

In fact in my 65 years I have maybe had only three job interviews and they were in person.

It was usually a matter of others finding out that I was out of work and them calling me to ask me to go to work for them.

After moving here eleven years ago I mostly just worked freelance, by word of mouth.

And I still get phone calls for work, but I turn them down, I'm secure enough and just don't give a damn about money anyway.

It's just money, it's not about anything important, like love or sex and such.

Hum, it started raining, well, that is what gives good life here and it has been a beautiful spring.

If you really want the job I hope that you get it. It will give you something new to hate, ha ha ha.

I hope you get this job if you want it, Lime. I was a wreck before my job interview too, but once I had to just do it, I shined. It sounds like you did the same. They don't know how lucky they'd be to have you.

Sounds like it went pretty darned well. They'll hire you, if they have half a brain. . .

But I'll keep the prayers going just a while longer. . .

Oh, darlin': hoping, hoping, hoping.

What I am sure about is that you killed during the interview--more than you know.

I'd hire you in a flash. I hope they are smart enough to do the same.

Hopefully in a few weeks, you'll know you have a job. :)

I hate interviewing. It's so fake. I usually have to borrow something to complete a suit, then borrow someone's shoes, then whip out an old tie. I hate wearing ties. I can't breathe in those things.

I'm looking at your post below. Wow! 19 years? That's a long time not to interview.

The whole process has changed greatly since then. Hope you didn't feel too lost. Must have been a challenge.

Best of luck with the whole thing. I hope you get that job and you actually like it.

I actually wouldn't mind working in a library. I'm there weekly anyways. I used to go several times a week. I used to live in a town that had the county's central library, so it was unusually large. Great place to hide from the world.

I'm sure you'll get the job. The waiting part can be very difficult, but based on this post, you're making the most of it.
