Last week when I posted that picture of me in my ear flap hat Jocelyn said, "You may think this isn't your most-flattering look, but I'm going to disagree. You look like a Duluthian, and you look like someone I'd hang with in Duluth. Seriously."
So, lacking any other inspiration I'm going Duluthian today. My car was in need to service so I dropped it off at the garage and walked 3 miles to work on one of the coldest days of the year. I used to do that on a regular basis all year round. It reminded me that I needed to get back to it if I am going to shed any of the weight I've packed on recently. I have to admit to being very bored with the only walking route option I have close to home so when Isaac missed the bus earlier this week and I had to drive him I wrapped myself up and kept driving after dropping him off so I could go walk someplace different.
So here I am in all my pseudo-Duluthian glory. Don't laugh. I was warm if not fashionable. Not much snow on the ground at the moment but it was about 10F and the wind was whipping.

Duluthian is ever so much better than, say... Cardassian.
EVERYBODY put your hands up...
And nobody gets hurt!
Duluthian? That's not nearly enough snow for Duluth. . . (I'm a little surprised, actually; just from following the weather maps, I'd have thought your part of the country would be pretty snowy by now. . .)
But hey - good for you, for getting out and hoofing it, even in the snow. . .
Gah! No offense to Jocelyn, whom I adore, but I do't want to have to go all Duluthian. I want to look more, say, Honoluluan. Bring me warm weather!
I'd be careful with those pictures. You're going to end up on the no-fly list.
You could be a Montrealer too.
See you can get away with that look. If I tried it, I'd look Duluthional... yeth I would.
this just reminds me not to complain about my florida winter. even though we've had below freezing temps every night for the past two weeks. i know - i know - wah wah wah. but i'm COLD!!
Gosh dangit, you're making me sweat!
It's 85 right now....
This Duluthian is ROTFLMAO. What a hoot. Anytime you choose to come up here Lime, we will give you the grand tour.
All you need is a kayak behind you, some snowshoes stuck in the, er, piles of snow, and a hefty porter in your hand.
Honey, I love this.
Duluthian? Are they like Klingons, Romulans, or Vulcans?
Never met a duluthian. This is my very first duluth experience. I feel like I should be taking snapshots of my laptop with one of those little cameras that tourists buy out of vending machines.
Dear Lime,
We will most certainly bestow the "honorary Duluthian" award to you. It's a rare honor shared by few (Mark Twain being one). But I don't know if your wardrobe would be the qualifying factor since we have only seen your summer outfit.
P.
If you are going Duluthian your picture is missing the perpetual downhill, ice covered streets straight down to the lake! I love Duluth though!
What? No tie-dye scarf or hat?
I would like to be anti-duluthian, thanks just the same.
Actually, true Duluthians don't wrap a scarf around their face. The prefer to show off their snotsicles.
