The Day After Easter

Ya know, Lord....

If you have no use for this I wouldn't mind a nice quiet place to take a nap for a few days.

Don't go rolling the stone back to close it or anything.

I'm just reeeeeally tired is all.

Just sayin'....

I hate those times when it feels like getting a quiet moment or two is a miracle in and of itself.

As usual I had the house to myself Friday, mainly because my son who is still reveling over his brand new driver's license, had hauled butt to a friend's house with my car. But anyway, it was cool enough that I had the living room windows open and with it raining heavily it was about as relaxing as things come in my hated suburbs.

Making things even better I heard no other man-made sounds all that time.

I hear ya. School vaca here last week too, which is anything but for me. I have not murdered my children, which is about all I can say for myself.

And now, blessed, if temporary, relief.

I wish I were a napper. I get it, I really do. My Dad can shut his eyes in a chair, snooze for a half-hour, and wake up a new man.

Even so, over the years, I've found that whenever I do take a nap, I wake up feeling even groggier. No, I go the caffeine route, and try for a decent night's sleep instead.

p.s. - On thinking about that tomb...

The day after my Nana's funeral, which had involved several busy, sleep-deprived days, we went to visit my now sister-in-law to get away for a bit. Her guest room was a windowless, climate-controlled, basement room. I went to take a "nap"

And slept for 29 hours. Yikes.

Yeah, I imagine a nice cool tomb where you could lay down and rest for 2-3 days would be sounding pretty good to you, right about now. . .

But Christ is Risen! So you've got that going for you, which is nice. . .

As much as I'm giggling at your idea here, I also have to ask if you saw the photo I put on FB the other day (no one commented on it! Boo hoo!) that is exactly of this type of rolling rock, but in one of the underground cities here in Cappadocia. Having never before this year seen a picture like the one in your post, I had a little revelation in the underground city, kind of a "So when the story goes that they rolled the rock away from the front of the cave, it was kind of EXACTLY LIKE WHAT I'M LOOKING AT?"

Oh, a nap right now would be soooooo good!!!

But I prefer warm and soft places for napping, and especially warm and soft places that I can't be locked in by a huge stone.

Does look cool and quiet in there, doesn't it?!

so, me and your lord are gonna have a little talk outside of that cave thingy there, chat about life and stuff...
i think maybe if I bring a blackberry pie and some tea, I could keep him occupied long enough for you to get a few hours sleep
in.
Dont worry, I will be nice.
Have a good nap!

i would like the stone rolled back into place. i think i could install a pulley system to open it only from the inside. i'd come out at night to forage. see if Mary M. was ready to start dating.
