Slice of Lime & Friday 55-My Eyes

I will not apologize for my eyes.
I will not ask to be forgiven when they rebuke you.
I will not lower them in shame.
I will not avert them from your folly.
I will not dull their piercing glare.
You will either meet my eyes and bear their intensity
or wither in their scrutiny.

There was a particular interaction over the weekend wherein a man who is utterly threatened by women with brains attempted to defend something indefensible.  He took great issue with the rebuke he read in my eyes.  Too bad.  He can deal with it.

I used to share a house with someone with over-expressive eyes. I have over-expressive eyes sometimes. Save me having to say a lot, sometimes ~~!

Would you say your eyes were over-expressive? Or just expressive? And do you use them deliberately or do things just happen when you look at people?

Sometimes when I look at people things just happen. I have got obnoxious teenagers to shut up just by looking at them. I don't think they liked the glimpse into my soul that afternoon

har har ;-)

I have seen your orbs in person, and I...

No, wait, some people might take that the wrong way. I meant your eyes, of course, not some other body parts. Not that your other body parts might not be just as expressive. I didn't mean that. I just meant...

Oh, hell. They were lovely, and full of life.

So were your eyes.

To be threatened by women with brains. . . pity. He's missin' out on a lot of fun. . .

And, uh, your eyes are, indeed, very, um, communicative. . .

Don't hurt me. . . ;)

I've always thought (and still do) that you have stunning eyes.

Your tie-dye profile pic leaves me with the impression that you have kaleidoscope irises. That is how my mind's eye pictures you.

Anyway, I respect you enough to listen to what your eyes have to say. I hope I have the good sense to respond humbly to the rebuke of a friend. More than that, I hope to avoid a careless offense in the first place.

I will look down, look away, dull the intensity so you can catch your breath before the pierce comes back again.

Heh, heh. My spidey-sense is filling in the blanks... hmmmm, I wonder...

Nice 55. You did a good job extracting the universal from the specific.

Interesting photo to go with. Camera at arms length?
