The Tree in the Park

*image found here

How many families tired from a week of work and school
sat on a blanket to enjoy a picnic in her shade?

How many children climbed her branches
to spy on the world and hide their treasures amongst her leaves?

How many lovers held each other
beneath her spreading boughs and shared their secrets?

The tree knows.
She whispers each story
when the wind rustles her leaves.

Gorgeous! Love it. :)

It kind of reminds me of the book The Giving Tree (one of my alltime favorites). :)

Trees are such beautiful things. Recent storms took down a lot of big branches and even whole trees, but thankfully we still have a lot left.

Wow. I've been away too long this summer, but this is really lovely. Glad I caught it before it faded into the archives.
