Brain Dump

Just some crap cluttering my brain today...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I recently purchased the above bucket for a whopping $3.  Calypso needs one for next year.  The sign said the regular price was $12.99.  The thought occurred that perhaps that "regular price" was  merely inflated as a way to make the sale price look even better but I had seen them sold at that price in the past.  Now you know they are still managing some sort of profit at $3 so why do they ever need to jack it up to $12.99.  Feel free to answer but I'm sure it can't possibly boil down to anything other than sheer greed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Calypso: Did someone fart?

Mr. Lime: It doesn't smell like one of mine.

Isaac: Mine smell like rainbows.

Mr. Lime: You fart Skittles?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And just because it made me wonder....
You Are a Yellow M&M
You are a mystery to those around you. You're happy-go-lucky but also quietly enigmatic.
You live in a very individualistic way. You're doing what you love, and that varies from day to day.
You are very self-aware and introspective. You know who you are, and you're good with that.
You have an ironic view of life. You can be both serious and funny at the same time.
This is what it looks like when a follicularly challenged man decides to attempt a mohawk on himself.  A few moments later her presented me with a handful of hair, which represented ALL he had removed from his cranium.  He asked, "Do you think Locks of Love would want this?"
i haven't done a Blogthings quiz in so long...
Red - You are an enthusiastic and easily excitable person. The world is brimming with so many possibilities for you.
You have a lot of energy that comes in short bursts. You are easily inspired, and your flame burns brightly.
You are very creative and mentally sharp. You don't stick to anything for too long, but your intensity makes up for lack of attention span.
Your dreams (and daydreams) are active and colorful. You believe that you're capable of anything.
i have no words for the mohawk attempt...well actually i do but i will refrain
Why does anyone need a Bucket?
Answer to G-Man's question: "Why does anyone need a bucket?"
"So they can have someplace to put their List."
Now, here's my statement, and I hope it's not too late, now that your brain is all dumped and everything:
There's a hole in your bucket, dear Lima, dear Lima.
I could give a long economics theory answer on why the mark up is to $12.99, but it would be mighty boring. Suffice it to say, you probably got a good deal on a piece of plastic!
Damn, I love your family!
...so why do they ever need to jack it up to $12.99.
My in-laws owned a clothing shop on Hilton Head for a short time (a wild store in itself that I am forbidden to tell) and they carried the Jimmy Buffett t-shirts I liked. I quickly found out that while they were selling the shirts for $22 they got them from the supplier for $5.
Blew me away, and no I didn't get the family discount.
Of course, any economist will tell you that the value of something is whatever someone will pay for it. If folks wouldn't pay $12.99 for it, they'd either have to lower the price or stop selling 'em. . . And of course, the way to lower the price is to go into the bucket business yerself, and sell yours for $9.99. . .
Hmmmmm. . . I am follicularly challenged in pretty much the same way (is that Mr. Lime?). I've always said that it was expressive of my latent monastic tendencies, but Jen just mumbles something about eight kids, and refuses to take the whole 'monastic' thing seriously. . .
But a mohawk? Ummmm. . . no.
WordVer = 'elser' More 'else' than thou? One who makes 'else'?
LOL! "You fart skittles?"
My middle son tried to give himself a buzz cut once... his head ended up looking like a crazy quilt.
As for the price thing... the Dollar Store boggles my mind.
The price thing is called a Loss Leader. They don't make their bucks there, but make up for it by generating more traffic and the other stuff that those customers buy.
The quiz dubbed me Green. That also happens to be my favorite colored M&M. I don't know why; I just like it.
I expect a mohawk on me would look eerily similar. By the way, just what kind of bucket is that? What is it supposed to hold? It's full of holes and oddly shaped (which also applies to me, which is why I don't feel bad about asking.)
And, you know, sometimes you just want to get the old crap out of yer warehouse, so you sell it for a song, just to get rid of it (and get something, rather than nothing, from it), and make room for something else. . .
I'm most curious about why Calypso needs that odd bucket with the face on the side - what's it for?
Is that a bucket or a cleaning supply caddy? I suspect you could take a brown M&M, dip it in the bucket water and then paint the hair back on his head. Repeat as necessary.
