Mountains,
sky,
and water
scheme together.
They whisper
their incantation
that rises with the sun,
envelops me like the mist
roused from its rest,
rolling along the water,
ascending
as dawn draws it
to the clouds.
The earth inhales...exhales.
Its spell is cast--
the beguiling look
of a lover waking,
smiling,
reaching,
whispering,
"Stay..."
DA COUNT
Yeah, I actually got up before dawn to take these pictures while I was in Washington. Me, the girl who hates mornings. It was worth it. Just.so.gorgeous.

I'm thinking that maybe you just went to bed LATE!!!
Either way, I LOVED your 55 Trini
You can write with the best of them My Dear.
Thanks for playing, and have a Kick Ass Week-End
MZ!!!!!!!!
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...........
Oh, my goodness. . .
Lovely words,
And lovely pictures.
Thanks, friend. . .
I love the last word you used. The best things are fleeting.
"The beguiling look of a lover waking, smiling, reaching..."
Ooooh.
I like it. :)
Thanks for another Friday 55!
Mine's here. :)
oo lala....love it when i hear stay....and i love nature...so i love your 55...smiles.
I love the scheme.
The sunrise and sunset are so fleeting, yet lovely. Who can turn away?
Washington state? We were rubbing elbows, girl! I hope it was as glorious as it looks!
beautiful wake up call
And very lovely they are, too! Thanks for such a nice wake up!
Awesome!
Wow. Beautiful!!!
Very nice pic and poem. As a devoted morning person, even if you don't agree, I guess you can see why.
Getting up before the kids is a big plus too.
It's always an adventure when we're awake at times when we're usually asleep. (See what you've been missing?)
Jet-lag can be a wonderful thing, sometimes. . .
;)
A perfect piece. Thanks!
Well, yeah, that's the secret we morning people know. It's the loveliest time of the day!
Wow, the pics are gorgeous! I especially like the way the sky from your bottom pic fades to white at the top, so that it appears as if the pine tree is jutting up past the picture's borders.
The poem is lovely.
But what got me the most was that last part about whispering "stay." It resonates with intimate memories that some of us may have shared with our spouses. Whew! Is it getting warm in here?
There's something about that time of day with most of the world asleep that is indeed magical. Gorgeous photos, especially that second one.
From a fellow non-morning kinda gal let me just say,
yah, it was worth it.
beautiful
Wonderful photos Michelle. They look like paintings. Liked your poem too - Dave
"stay..." indeed.
Made me smile, lime. :-) Thank you.
Pearl
Isn't it amazing how much that trip gave you?
