Playing with the New Lens-Sweet Pea

A couple of weekends ago I had the chance to go visit my dear friend's house and spend time with her and her little girl Sweet Pea.  I took my camera and some new tie dye for Sweet Pea who is growing fast and needed some new dyes.

This is my favorite shot of SP.

I took two tie dyes for her.  She squealed with delight over the pink one.  I wanted a picture or two of her modeling.  It was a challenge with a squirmy three year old in a room with terrible lighting (though I hasten to add I wasn't fighting the natural wiggly preschool tendency).  I was hoping I could convince her to hang out in the dining room where there was a lot of natural light.  No dice.  She wanted her very dark bedroom.  This was my most successful shot there.

This is about how focused most of the shots of a very active wee one in the poorly lit bedroom came out.  It was good practice though for less than favorable conditions and I have a bit of learning to do.

Aaahhh, ample natural light!

All that running around and modeling works up an appetite!

Oh she really is a sweet pea! I love all the shots... even the active kind of fuzzy but very happy sweet pea shot. Delightful!

Yup, that is one remarkably sweet pea. . . And well decked-out, too!

I like the way, in that first picture, you show a certain innocence and maybe curiosity in her eyes. It looks totally pro!

She's cute, and that's an excellent tie-dye pattern!

It's good I'm only seeing her in photos, as I'd have to tackle her with love in real life.

Children make charming pictures if you are lucky enough to capture them at the right time, and I feel that you did this wonderfully Michelle! Well done. This little sweety is a beauty - Dave

Ole Sweet Pea might even look good in tele commercial's ... seriously (I'm just kind of a theatric's type dude, having been into music and my familia)

Oh she's a wee doll. And you're doing great with that camera. Low lighting is very tricky.
