Restoring Faith

I don't know about you but after the heart-breaking news out of Connecticut I have needed reminders of the good things that good people do in the world.

A couple of the folks whose blogs I read have shared stories that I just found today at a time when I needed to read them.  I offer them for your edification as well.

Michelle at The Surly Writer offers a smile because she can.

Kat at Seeking Sanity demonstrates how her kids understand the true spirit of the season.

Again, may we consider what we can do to be the change we wish to see in the world, to bring light where there is darkness, to comfort those who mourn, to restore faith....and then go do it.

read them both; so touched with the generosity of the mom's children to get a gift for another mom and neat reading about the man that daily walked his well behaved dog (dogs off leash scare me, but this one didn't seem like it would scare me, seemed he was well behaved indeed)

thanks for sharing them!

My mom was telling me what a wicked world this is now...and I told her I don't believe it is as bad as the news would have us to believe because I follow so many wonderful women that write blogs and find beauty in this world...I can't have "just happened" upon the few there are left. You women give me faith in humanity. Thanks for being in blogland.

Thanks for the link! Sometimes, we do need to stop and just be grateful for what we have, and consider our actions in how it affects others.

It is nice to read about goodness, especially when confronted by recent events that are becoming all too common. Thank you, Lime.

Those kids in Seeking Sanity give us hope there is still room for civility in the world

There is lots of evidence elsewhere, too
It's just that it doesn't attract as much attention from the media

Thanks

Awww. That is so nice. Thank you for that. The kiddos certainly lifted my spirits. And after a trying weekend with them (they are kids after all) coming here and seeing this is just the reminder I needed that they really are great kdis. Thanks!
Off to check out the other link.

Thanks - I'll take all the hopeful stories I can get!

Yeah, both of those were stories I enjoyed.

Stay focused on the beauty. Hug your kids. Tell the people you love that you do, indeed, love them.
