It's been a while since I did Da Count consistently. For those who don't know, there's a graphic in the sidebar stating, "it's what you have that counts, not what you don't have." It's been a really frustrating couple of weeks since I lost my job for a lot of reasons, some related to the job loss, some completely unrelated. Since being let go I have had interactions with four different patients who were all very unhappy to learn I was no longer at the office. One said she was boycotting the office because I was her favorite person there and I made her visits something to look forward to. A second told me she was upset I was not there when she went in but was glad to bump into me so she had a chance to wish me well. A third said he came because of the one massage therapist and was bummed when she left but he continued to come because I was there so now he doesn't have much reason to stay there. A fourth who knows both the doctors and me pretty well said he was deeply disappointed in the way I had been treated. A fifth said I really brought something positive and special to the atmosphere of the office.
So I don't have a job and I don't have a decent reason for why that is but I have been given some kind words from some of the people I served affirming that I did so in a way that was meaningful to them. It has been a comfort.
