Pure Nerd 82 % Nerd, 34% Geek, 47% Dork |
For The Record: A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia. A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one. A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions. You scored better than half in Nerd, earning you the title of: Pure Nerd. The times, they are a-changing. It used to be that being exceptionally smart led to being unpopular, which would ultimately lead to picking up all of the traits and tendences associated with the "dork." No-longer. Being smart isn't as socially crippling as it once was, and even more so as you get older: eventually being a Pure Nerd will likely be replaced with the following label: Purely Successful. Congratulations! Thanks Again! -- THE NERD? GEEK? OR DORK? TEST |

Joe Normal
21 % Nerd, 4% Geek, 8% Dork
For The Record:
A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.
A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.
A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.
You scored less than half in all three, earning you the title of: Joe Normal.
This is not to say that you don't have some Nerd, Geek or Dork inside of you--we all do, and you can see the percentages you have right above. This is just to say that none of those qualities stand out so much as to define you. Sure, you enjoy an episode of Star Trek now and again, and yeah, you kinda enjoyed a few classes back in the day. And, once in a while, you stumble while walking down the street even though there was nothing there to cause you to trip. But, for the most part, you look and act fairly typically, and aren't much of an outcast.
I'd say there's a fair chance someone asked you to take this test. In any event, fairly normal.
I'm JOE NORMAL..whoo hoo!
tc
Ah, man... I scored: Joe Normal
21 % Nerd, 8% Geek, 8% Dork
I would have put money up that I was a nerd. :D
Pure Geek here! :D

Pie??!! Mmmmmmmm!!
"Nerds! Nerds! Nerds! Nerds! . . ."
Sorry, being a movie dork (I guess), I felt it was only appropriate to toss that in, from the front lawn of my frat house.
XO
THIS IS TORTURE!!!!! The "filter" here at school will not let me go take a test to find out if I'ma geek, dork, or nerd.
I MEAN.....HOW WRONG IS THAT!?!?
Good morning vietnam!
We use to have a Pii day party in high school. And I took the test...Pure Nerd! Like I even had to take the test to figure it out :)
I tried taking the test and it told me to go away.
You loveable, huggable nerd! :)
Hi Lime,
I'm visiting fellow bloggers from Hale McKay's blog and saw you there :)
The test said I'm "Joe Normal," although I feel like a Dork/Geek 100% of the time. I'm not smart enough to be a Nerd, lol!

carolyn, thanks for stopping by, always glad to have another person, normal or otherwise, to join the fun.
hmm.
I suck at math, (was dyslexic coming up, and didn't know... turns out most of my family is too... we all didn't know about each other being like this until... um, five or ten years ago...)
these words, (definition wise,) sure have changed...
geek:
-in Carney (Sideshow) terms.
a 'geek,' was one who would do odd things to onesself or others, (ala Ozzy biting the head off of a bird,' or guys like 'torture king,' who stick long needles into their skin and such,'
---and actually perform or simulate torturous acts onstage.
-eating glass, putting a nail in one's nose, (etc. etc.)
-it usually involves perceived or actualy pain done as a sideshow routine. Torture King is more of a refined geek, 'the Enigma,' is actually closer to a true 'geek.' ('Wrenfield' from the old monster movies? an archetype geek.)
--This is not to be mistaken for such things as the Indian fakhir's and other religious rites done, (though the performance art aspect takes their origional qeues from them...
----Strangely enough, with the exception of such folks as 'the Jim Rose Circus,' and such, ---
'geeking,' has gone back into the quasi-religious realm in the form of urban primitive and 'alt,' religious worship, (full body suspensions, extreme piercings, etc...) -and simultaniously re-identified itself as mainstream, no longer for entertainment, and now (somewhat accepted,) practice.
-eyebrow, cheek, lip, (and other areas,) as well as ear cartiledge piercings all, for a while were considered as 'geeking.'
-So, the origins ('he's a Math Geek,') actually was meant to be a bit more ghoulish and that the person was self-inflictive with their knowledge of the subject and (barbaric or lack,) of social skills. (there are shades of 'one who eats bugs, smaller critters, and even cannibalism to the definition.)
'Nerd,'
(in the truest sense,) is much more unassuming and not at all vile.
(Actually, nerds are considered as intelligent sissies and somewhat effeminate, potentially defenseless and vulnerable (the thick glasses with the band-aid thing,) and 'easy prey,' in 'bullying circles.'
Dork?
a the clumsey version of another word, you just substitute the 'or' with an 'ic.' (which lent the origional insult mostly to males, or was calling the person 'dork,' a large clumsy male member...
(I'm glad we had this little discussion.)
A Pure Nerd.
56 % Nerd, 30% Geek, 26% Dork
I would have thought there would be more Dork than that.(Oh well, can't win them all)
:)
lacquer, i had NO idea about the origins of the term 'geek.' that was pretty fascinating. i've also heard, though not researched myself, that 'dork' is actually a term of the genitalia of a male sperm whale. i'm guessing that qualifies as a large and clumsy male member. and i think i can safely say your detailed knowledge of the etymology here qualifies you (in a modern, very NON-effeminate way) as a purebred nerd, welcome to the herd....
tl, honm you are waaaaay too socially adept to be a dork.
I squeaked in as NORMAL, Boo yah!!
heh heh heh
Take that!
All your bases are belong to us.
....and isn't a "dork" what you call a whale's privates?
seriously....I think it is....
and, egads, I don't know why/how I know this....
leaving now....
Happy Pi day to you!
I'm an Outcast Genius. That was fun.
logo, normal?? i'm not buying it at all
apj, you must let me know when you get home
cindra, outcast genius?? lol i didn't know that was a choice.
oh yeah..3.14 PI...
Cool. Happy Pi Day!
I am 56% nerd, 36% dork and 23% geek...or something like that.
Apparently, I am pure nerd because I like to read books??? I hope everyone is a nerd! Reading is fun.
