Friday 55 & Da Count-Summer!

IT'S SUMMERTIME!!!!
Da Count is contained in Da 55.

Succulent berries, ripe melons, juicy peaches and plums,
home grown tomatoes, zucchini out the ears,
sweet corn on the cob, fresh peas by the bucket,
beans, peppers, and squash.

I'm going to stuff myself on all the goodies of the season.
Now tell me how I am going to stuff myself into a bathing suit without embarassment?

And for your musical pleasure to start the season....

The weather was too funky in Spring to start my garden this year... though this means trips to the Farmers Market... my next favorite thing. :) Great summery (and nutritious) Count!

Cheers!

Very nice indeed. I did not start a garden this year. I suppose what I need to do is get it ready to go next year. I do not plant much but I really do miss it when it is not there.

Now I am going to have to go to the Farm Market for sure. Oh and I am thankkful for all that too. It is such a lovely time of the year.

mmm...Lime!! You wrote about my favorite part of summer! I LOVE fresh fruit and veggies! Alas, my swimwear is not nearly as happy with me when I try to squish into it! :)

What a tasty 55!!

Hey you: 'how to stuff yourself into a bathing suit without embarrassment'?
No problem: A couple of hours in a Norwegian sauna (and of course if it was winter time, you could roll around in the snow to cool down once in a while) and then!---- you'll fit in just perfect!
Remember if you do it the Viking way, you even don't need the bathing suit:-)

Lime! I love the peaches! But I hate the summer here! It is sweltering!
I love swimming though...nothing like the cool pool these days!

None of that food is fattening. That's some good stuff there.

I'll check out that vid now.

Goodness I am hungry now! There is nothing like sitting down to a meal that is created with food strictly from a home grown garden...Mmmmm....my mouth is a waterin'.

I love all those things plus to put some fattening into it...
I love fried...
squash
zucchini
okra
green tomatoes

I also love all of those grilled except for the okra and one of my favs on the grill is sweet corn on the cob..dear God my mouth is a waterin'.

I like to eat all the fresh fruits as well and I have found this summer that children really love picking strawberries. My dad has a strawberry patch across the driveway from me and some friends of mine came over with their two girls and we picked berries and they loved it!

Okay I am going to go now before I take up all of your comment space!

Sorry I am late getting here but I have been gone all day!

xoxo

None listed should be a "bathing suit" issue - I should think you could just pig out on all of it! Just sayin' :)

I can't help with the swimsuit I myself failed miserably to do this today.Skinny dip anyone:)

I'm out of town for most of the summer so hope you will forgive the infruequency of my visits and have a go at my quotes whilst I'm gone.

Have a great summer!

Hi lime,
Stopping by to check on the wonderful lime family, and wish a good weekend to you.

My word verification sounds like a rap group, "rymxyoh"

Forgot to mention the singer reminds of Barbara
Feldon
looks-wise, but her voice reminds me of Six Pence None the Richer, if its not the same singer, I don't know, I never did see what she looked like or even know her name.

Mmmm... you made me envious. I think there is nothing more yummy than ripe veggies and fruit from your own garden.

I am going to Berlin soon, and hope that there is going to be lots to try in my father's garden.

Bugger, it's winter here. Sunny days, cold nights. Okay, I know -4C isn't that cold for some, but it's cold enough for me!

As for the swimmers, just go without :)

Oh, man. It's blueberry season now. I love blueberries, eat them by the boatload. And other fruit, too, but especially blueberries.
