Rock on Wit Ya Own Bad Selves!

Chikken nominated me for this nifty little designation here and I think it is pretty sweet coming from one rockin' mama such as her. Then a few days later Cathy nominated me again and she made special colors of buttons for all her nominees. I am so tickled that these ladies think I am a rockin' girl blogger.

Well, I am glad they recognize I am a girl...ya know, I'd really kinda hate to be mistaken for a fellow. I can just hear the comment, 'Hellacious case of manboobs ya got there, Lime!' Although if I gave up my Nair Upper Lip Cream the comments related to moustaches would be justified. Shaddup, us Greeks are a hirsute bunch.

It's kinda groovy being seen as somewhat rockin'. My problem is how to define rockin'. I think it's a good thing I don't have any Barry Manilow, John Tesh, or Air Supply on my iPod. They aren't exactly rocckin' and I think they might disqualify me.

Ok, ok...so I am supposed to nominate 5 rockin' girl bloggers to keep things moving along and so on. They even get to steal one of these nifty buttons to display proudly on their blog. Well, I'd have to say I think these chicks who nominated me are pretty rockin' but I can't really go nominating them again can I? And then there are those 5 Thinking Girl Bloggers I mentioned some time ago. Personally, I figure anyone who makes me think is quite rockin' so I want Cosima, Jocelyn, Kfarmer, Logo, and M to all consider themselves nominated for this and grab a button. However, I realize some may view that as a cop-out response so I shall now nominate 5 more...

Susie: I know Susie longer than any other online pal and lemme tall ya, the gal rocks like no other. She is one of the most creative people I know. She sews all sorts of amazing things, makes her own furniture, travels to India regularly, and makes some of the most interesting musical Monday posts. Oh, and did I mention she fed my tie dye mania by teaching me tricks of the trade when I first started making my own?

Moose: Moose rocks because she has such an active life. She loves the outdoor life and playing sports and I don't think much gets her more excited that some really gnarly orthopedic injury. Hehehe. It's ok, she is a Physician's Assistant who knows how to reassemble those of us who loose battles to gravity. I also think it is pretty rockin' that she didn't lecture me about the evils of ziplining but instead chose to give me a virtual harness and helmet at Christmas to promote SAFE ziplining. She gets me...that rocks!

Airplanejayne: APJ said if I ever made it to her part of the world she'd make sure I got thrown out of a perfectly good airplane (with a functioning parachute, mind you) and we'd pole dance on the city buses together. Now THAT rocks!! Plus, she is one terrific storyteller and has a wicked sense of humor.

Signgurl: She has made some really major changes in her life in the past year. Occasional setbacks have been frustrating for her but she has had some really tremendous success and I am so inpsired by that. She makes me burst out laughing with stories of going to Passion parties with her mom. She is the technical guru for a low tech fellow blogger. Rock on, gurl!

Snavy: Snavy is another longtime pal with tremendous talents. She dances, she makes art, she writes poetry. She has a deliciously evil sense of humor and we have together cooked up some of the most creatively just punishments for those who seem so deserving of a special kind of wrath. Some of her observations on life and people are just so dead on and funny.

You are beyond Rockin', dear Limey.

You go so far as to bring down the house.

When you going to post a picture of you and the Nair, gettin' it on?

Is that David Essex I hear in the background? "Hey did you boogie too? Did ya? Rock On."

Have a nice week, Rocker.

That's a word you don't hear people use in conversation that much . . . hirsute. Maybe it's problematic, confusing people, making them think you said "her suit," which would be out of context anyway if you meant hirsute.

Like hoary . . . you never hear anyone say that, probably owing to what it sounds like. "My grandmother looks very hoary." Just doesn't work.

Niggardly is in that same category. Someone got in a lot of trouble here around DC a couple of years ago, for using that one . . . talking about city government, I think.

Anyway, thanks for your literary breadth, Lime. You rock, girl.

XO

Apart from the fact that this post and the Blogger Girl Rockin' thingie are sexist by nature, I would agree with your nomination and nominations.
