Friday 55 & Da Count-Rainy Days

I am feeling somewhat uninspired so I am recycling an early 55.

Tracks of water run down the windowpane.
I drag my fingertips along your back.
Parched earth drinks in the water.
You quench my thirst with deep kisses.
Hard rain pounds the roof.
Our bodies pulse together.
Thunder crashes.
I cry out and you shudder.
The gentler pit-pat raindrops
echo my slowing heartbeat
and we sigh.

DA COUNT
It's been cold and raining all week here. I'm not complaining though. We've needed it. It's good to see things green up again and to have an excuse for shlubbing around a little. I've been tired all week and passed out on the couch last night around 7:30 until my son woke me at 11PM to send me to bed. Hahahaha. Bless that boy, he wanted to make sure his mama didn't wake up feeling like a pretzel. I love to fall asleep listening to rain. I dunno what it is, but rain just puts me in a mood.....

Mmmmm...the 55 sure put me in the mood...

I have an mp3 of rainfall. It's about an hour long. I put it on my iPod whenever I want to sleep...it's so peaceful. I got it off iTunes if you are interested..

The pitter patter of raindrops does that to me too. Yeah, I've been sleepy a lot too. Very nice count.

I love the rain!
I love watching it, I love listening to it, I love falling asleep to it, I love the smell of it...

and it's good for kissing in, too.

The sound of waves on the beach and the breeze in the palms. When I'm at home I don't have to download it, I get a live performance.

:o)

Some rain would be nice about now....we had some really wild winds last night, reminded me of fall, which is right around the corner, and, my favorite time of year.

Have a good weekend Lime in your new dress! Hee hee!

I totally agree about rain and the 55 is very poetic. Love it!

Totally off topic but since you asked...

Spinner a term for a very small woman, used to connote sexual agility.

You're welcome.

I like your 55 - never have seen it before. Great photo to match. Hmmm - it's hot, dry, hot.. did I say hot and dry here? It is nice to hear how the other half lives. I particularly like your loverly lines... sweet.

This is a new one to me yea. Oh and I really like it. It just conjures up ... well never mind what it conjures up. Very nice indeed.

I love the sound of rain. It is fun to watch especially where there is some lightening too but nothing to severe. And yes that and waves of water on the beach so relaxing and perfect to fall asleep to. How nice you were woke up before you turned into a pretzel. Yesterday I went to sleep early too but luckily I made it to bed before doing so.

I thought the rain was good the first two days, then I had enough. One week's enough. I want sunshine, though I did get a glimpse of it two days ago.

How sweet to be awakened by a child--for your own good and not to get or do something for him! Hee.

Now I'm drowsy.

The joys of sitting under the pergola, listening to the rain... we were fortunate enough to have rain during the week, so I sat outside with a coffee and took the sounds and smells in.

Oddly enough, I miss the rain. We only get like 5 days of rain a year here in the desert, so its nice to see it. I used to like rainy saturdays once in awhile, just to do some work around the house. oh well.

One thing I do miss from Seattle is the rain. I actually liked it. I just didn't like how everyone was so depressing.

I was wondering if you were gonna ask about that spinner word! LOL....
I am, for example, at this point, quite spinnable.

Rain put me in all sorts of moods this week. When is started at 4:30 am last Saturday morning I covered my head up and enjoyed sleeping in. At 11 am when it was still raining I curled up with a blanket, turned off the TV and watched it steadily come down. At 3:30 pm when I drove to the theater I was elated to have a rainy day to go to a chick flick with a friend. At 6:30 pm when the flash flood engulfed my car I was in disbelief. Monday night when i got the news the car was totaled I was overwhelmed. By Wednesday when it was still raining but my basement was nearly dry I was reserved, okay...this will work out. When the sun came with a light breeze on Friday i was nearly calm. Rain...it's a crazy thing.
