4. A Muppet Christmas Carol
5. That's about it. True confessions, I have never seen 'Miracle on 34th St' or 'It's a Wonderful Life' straight through. I've seen the movies in their entirety in bits and pieces over the year but never from start to finish.

5 Xmas Memories
1. My freshman year of college, having enough money in my pocket and an accessible downtown to shop in for presents for me family. I was much more excited about the prospect of giving gifts than anything else that year.
2. Having no money the year Diana was born (in the middle of December) but being happy after 5 weeks of bed rest that I had a healthy baby. Then being surprised by someone who dropped off a live tree for us as a gift.
3. Stringing the pine greens over the altar with my best friends when I was about 14. We got to climb up inside the roof about 50 feet over the altar area. Also, getting to be a herald in the Christmas Eve service with them the first time.
4. Calypso nearly refusing to do her part as a sheep in the Christmas pageant when she was 3 and the youth pastor bribing her with Twizzlers.
5. The look on Isaac's face when he opened the Tonka truck he wanted so badly.

5 Favorite Christmas Specials
1. The Grinch!

The Queen of Meme's hits another Homer!!!
DOH!..(Not That Homer)
I love the Holidays, partly because I know how much food talk goes on your posts...
Have a great day sweetie..Galen..xoxox
Man, Xmas cookies are the best. I remember Mom always trying to find a place to hide them from Dad and I and we always found them. Sometimes I enlisted the help of my dog, his nose was unstoppable.
I remember your giant cookie baking extravaganzas from years back.....
Are you doing it again this year?
Rockin as always.
Frosty the Snowman was always my fave!! that and Charlie Brown Christmas... Staples!!
On the Christmas movies... the last few years "Love Actually" has crept up on my personal hit parade.
I cry like a little baby at the end of "It's A Wonderful Life." Of course, I do the same when I watch "Sing A Song Of Six Pants" by The Three Stooges, so perhaps I'm not the best judge to go by when it comes to sentimentality.
What a great meme! Brought back some good memories of years gone by. Those cookies look SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good right about now. Can you tell I'm hungry? Must be feeling mo betta!
xo
Well done - and what a wonderful gift the live tree would have been too.
My Christmas hope for you is that ELF comes out in Latin.
Your lists here inched me a tidge closer to actual holiday spirit. We're making biscotti this year as a gift for the masses, and your plate of cookies has lit a fire under me.
I've never seen 'Miracle on 34th St' or 'It's a Wonderful Life' all the way through either. Strangely, I'd never see 'Christmas Story' until I was an adult. I love it!
I had tears in my eyes (I'm hormonal, can you tell?) when I read about Diana's first Christmas. Those were the days, eh?
I can't get over how similar our lists are, if I were to do one.
G-Man looks so good in his Lime Dyed shirt. Happy Birthday1
We are watching the "Grinch" today!
Favorite carol is from the "Pogo" comic strip - "Deck us all with Boston Charley..." Has to be sung!
Baby,It's Cold Outside. That song has been playing on the radio at work over and over again along with Alvin and the Chipmunks and I Want a Hippopatomus for Christmas.
At least Baby, It's Cold Outside sounds just as good the 100th time you hear it as the first.
My favorite Christmas song is Little Drummer Boy
I like the butter cookies with the dollop of raspberry on top that is like leather.
Mmmm... I would love one of your Christmas cookies with my coffee right now.
Even thought I proudly carry the banner of Scrooge my favorite Christmas special is "Santa Claus is coming to Town".
I didn't see "Grandma got run over by reindeer" as one of your favorite Christmas songs. That song by the way is one reason I carry the banner of Scrooge.
Cool Tie-dye shirt, where did he get that? I can't find them.
I love it!
I thought I was having strange urges -- wanting to bite a leg off..but then I realized I was just craving a gingerbread boy. cookie, that is!
Thanks again Michelle..

If you didn't have Christmas Story at the top of the list ... well, I probably would have been surprised. Anyway, I also agree with your choice of Christmas carol.
Does cookies include any Christmas dessert or just cookies?
I have a friend from Alabama who made chocolate bourbon balls. I don't own bourbon, but I have plenty of rum so I changed it to rum balls.
Take your favorite nuts and soak them for at least a day in bourbon (or in our case rum). Then take a stick of butter and melt it. Take a 16 oz box of powdered sugar and mix the sugar, butter, and nuts w/liquor together.
After those are done, roll them into balls on wax paper. Put them into the fridge overnight.
Now, in a double boiler, melt your favorite chocolate together with edible paraffin wax. When they're done, dip each ball into the chocolate mix. Do this twice so you have two coats. I know you're a chocolate lover Lime, so heck, put three coats on.
Put them in the fridge again and take them out and serve the next day. Your family and friends will be very, very happy.
I forgot one thing. Make sure you break up the nuts. You don't want them too big or else the nuts will stick out of the balls. Also, there are certain nuts that work and certain nuts that don't. The ones that work well are the ones that a) you can break up, b) will soak liquor.
Wow! Lime I love Lime stories!!!
You have had such a rich life & I love to read about all you did!
God Bless you!
& Wow! Galen in Lime Dyed shirt!
Happy Birthday Galen!
