Dream Deferred

What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
Like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore--
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over--
like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.
Or does it explode?

Langston Hughes

Does anyone have any answers? What dreams do you have? What dreams have you deferred? What will it take to realize them? Tell me how good it feels to have a dream come to fruition.

I'll know on my death-bed I think...
Or maybe when I go fishing with my grandson,
If and when I ever get a grandson!!
Meeting you in person was a dream come true, and I did actually know it at the time...
Have a great week Michelle...xoxox

Dreams are elusive. For me, by the time I've positioned myself to achieve a dream, I've evolved to the point that I realize it is merely a step and the new dreams are still slightly out of reach. So, I must press on, congrulate myself on the milestones and strive for something more, always striving...

If we can Dream we can also make them come true...

so many of my dreams came true & so many have remained just that..dreams...

Let dreams be, only make sure you have no regrets in life...

Dreams only exist while we're sleeping.
Doesn't mean we should stop hoping and believing though, eh?
Faith is being sure of what we hope for...
Or, as Journey would have it,
"Don't stop...believing, hold on to the bitter end.

My dreams vary on a daily basis.
This keeps things interesting and others a lil weary of me.

As you know, our house is a dream come true for us because all we ever wanted was a place to call our own on a certain piece of land. However I do have to say that it is exciting but it isn't the whole firework explosions thing I thought it would be, I love it anyway.

I read your previous comments and Logo has now got Journey stuck in my head...lol!

I believe that it is good for one to dream because it always gives us something to look forward to and that can mean a lot during a rough time.

Hope you are having a great day!

Oh how profound for a Monday!

My dreams evolve. When one is realized, another is born. I hope this continues until I die. I'd hate to think of a life without dreams.

Not all dreams are possible, just because you have doesn't mean they can and will become reality.

And the cosmos is always moving forward, not waiting for anyone to keep up if they can't.

I've had very few of the types of dreams that would make me rich or things like that.

I don't care that I'm not rich, I've had many interesting experiences and seen a lot of things and my property is free and clear and I'm set for retirement.

I figure that I am a lot better off than a heck of a lot of people. People that are always wanting more are just never happy.

I have been cursed with the gift of being a vivid dreamer. It's wonderful bliss when they are good dreams. It's literally scary when they aren't. I wake up with physical responses to dreams and can usually remember very detailed images.

Now if you are taking about the dreams I dream to be, those are a continuous work in progress.

Like Casdok, my dreams have changed a bit. Sometimes dreams come true in unexpected ways. The trick is to recognize that you may be living your dream already. The trick is to let yourself be open to joy, so that when it comes, you can embrace it.

I love how you take the flip side of almost all the questions that have a flip side!

Most dreams are positive, what kind of positive is my private dreams.
But I hate dreams that's ends with a Night Mare. I had one Sunday night. Walking riverside and I fell out in the cold river. OMG. I was there this weekend. That was scary.

I've had a dream for more than 10 years, and it's something I've been working toward for the past 3. I've had injuries, setbacks, etc., but I've never lost sight of the goal. Assuming no injuries, I will finally achieve that goal on April 6th. I'm looking forward to that feeling on April 7th of being able to say "I finally did it..."
