Slice of Lime-Bare Necessities

I didn't have time to take a new picture this week but I thought I'd stick with the monkey theme. Jungle Book is my all-time favorite Disney movie. I always wanted to be Mowgli. this is a picture from over 2 years ago before I fell off my backyard zipline. After that incident this tree swing (in addition to the zipline), which I loved, was dismantled to prevent me doing further harm to myself. I do miss it though.

So this week you get an old picture of me but one I think captures a side of my personality well, along with a song from the movie.

swing

Look for the bare necessities
The simple bare necessities
Forget about your worries and your strife
I mean the bare necessities
Old Mother Nature's recipes
That brings the bare necessities of life

Wherever I wander, wherever I roam
I couldn't be fonder of my big home
The bees are buzzin' in the tree
To make some honey just for me
When you look under the rocks and plants
And take a glance at the fancy ants
Then maybe try a few

The bare necessities of life will come to you
They'll come to you!

Look for the bare necessities
The simple bare necessities
Forget about your worries and your strife
I mean the bare necessities
That's why a bear can rest at ease
With just the bare necessities of life

Now when you pick a pawpaw
Or a prickly pear
And you prick a raw paw
Next time beware
Don't pick the prickly pear by the paw
When you pick a pear
Try to use the claw
But you don't need to use the claw
When you pick a pear of the big pawpaw
Have I given you a clue ?

The bare necessities of life will come to you
They'll come to you!

So just try and relax, yeah cool it
Fall apart in my backyard
'Cause let me tell you something little britches
If you act like that bee acts, uh uh
You're working too hard

And don't spend your time lookin' around
For something you want that can't be found
When you find out you can live without it
And go along not thinkin' about it
I'll tell you something true

The bare necessities of life will come to you

It makes me dizzy to think about where the person photographing you was hanging to capture the moment!

You look fabulous!

Happy HNT!

Yup! Now we can expect Craver to be bopping around all day, humming tunes from the Jungle Book. I also loved that King Louie scene...

You are an eclectic mix of so many fabulous things! Who ever would imagine you have Mowgli hiding within that fun self of yours? Love that shot - you just can't take a bad picture, can you :)

Grabs the helmet, the knee, chin and wrist guards, the elbow pads. Drags a large mattress underneath the zip line area...alerts the paramedics...
....wait! Stop! I cant drag this mattress along as you zip, this is impossible!

YOu just get down here right now young lady before I turn this car around!

My blood cocoa levels are dangerously low! LMFAO!

So where's that rope now? I could use it over my cubicle. Oh, that sounds morbid! I mean to swing from... like a monkey. Or maybe Tarzan on Casual Fridays.

Oh...you look so happy in the picture. Little did you know your days on the rope and the zipline were numbered.

Great picture...
My first job out of college was managing the Rialto Theater in Sunbury, PA. (before the cleaning guy/arsonist torched the place). My first two weeks was spent watching The Jungle Book twice a night...a dream job.

I know it's a geeky comment but who took the picture and how? However it was done it's a great pic.

You are the genuine jungle woman. Don't want any longer to hear about Jana and Tarzan.
You are the one.

btw. RennyBA and I went into the Norwegian jungle this late afternoon. Only 45 yeards away from our Summerhome. While Anna is in H K.
There will posts from this wonderful evening.

Personally, I'm more of a "Hakuna Matata" sort of guy! Love the warthog and meerkat... long live Pumbaa and Timon and... Oh wait! Wrong Disney jungle movie... never mind...

On the other hand, I DO remember this pic of you from before, Michelle and I love it! It reflects your "pre-zipline" adventuresome (daredevil is more like it) personality -- and it is simply a gorgeous, sexy photo! I especially like the way your luxurious hair cascades in those distinctive waves as you throw your head back, the look in your eyes as you play to the camera lens, the curve of your calf as you wrap those shapely legs around the rope, the way the arch of your back thrusts your breasts up and out in proud display, that playful, happy smile on your face (hmmmm... is there a strategically placed knot in that rope that just happens to be pressing against... oh, I shouldn't even go there!!), the brilliant red and bright white contrasted against the dark background (a nighttime shot apparently). It's just great photography of a beautiful subject!

Thanks for "hanging out" with us here every day, Limey. We're much enriched and entertained by the things you share with us!

My older daughter was so enthralled with "The Jungle Book" that one of her first purchases after she began working full-time was a copy of that movie. She would come home from working midnight shift at the local truckstop, go up to her room, pop that video into the old vcr she had there and drift off to sleep with that playing. As a result, I think she knows the words to almost all the songs -and dialogue too -even to this day, 20 plus years later! I know for a fact she can still sing "Bare Necessities" and it's probably her all time favorite song. And she's about 2-3 years older than you so she would greatly admire your taste in movies and music there! (And so do I cause I love that movie too!)

You are full of surprises. :) I never could rope-climb.

BTW, insurance approved the CI. Now it's a matter of the doctor's office getting the carbon copy. Ugh. Had to mail them MY copy (not original) to get the ball rolling to schedule the surgery. (Ugh, don't wanna think of that part...get it over with...)

I love the Jungle Book too, though I admit it was number two for me, because I loved Robin Hood number one!

I do occasionally burst into this song though and I even have it in French which is really funny to listen and sing along in English :)

Great photo of your radiant self, Lime. And great Mowgli words of wisdom. I'll be hearing them in my head all day. Not a bad thing at that.

I'm surprised you even go near that rope swing. You want to break something else?

Oh that is such a perfect picture of you. Can I tell you a secret. I cringed when I saw it. Sorry but I just knew what was coming.

Thanks for the lyrics. I heard the song a lot but never payed close attention to what they said. Wonderful.

I love a lot of Disney shows but my favorite is Beauty and the Beast. How could you not like Chip? Well and the Beast of course.
