Friday55 & Da Count

FRIDAY 55

I've created order where there was chaos and I have basked in the lasting cleanliness.
I've saved money on groceries.
I haven't had any fights to break up for a whole week.
I've gotten texts saying "I love you and miss you."
I've hogged the middle of the bed.
Things could be a whole lot worse.

(You must click the link in the body of the Friday 55 to fully appreciate the before and after on the bedrooms. The corresponding messy bedrooms in that post are the first and last photos.)

DA COUNT

As you know, Mr. Lime and Diana are in Louisiana for 6 weeks. This week Calypso was at camp so for a whole week it is just Isaac and me. It's been strangely quiet and peaceful. It's been very strange indeed but being able to actually walk into my daughters' bedrooms and I mean walk with confidence, not tiptoe carefully around piles and piles of clothes, books, papers, and trash has been really nice. I've enjoyed being able to sprawl out in my bed. I have enjoyed the calm before the storm that will be next week (calypso hitting the roof when she sees I have cleaned her room, and preparing and executing enough craft projects for fifty 5-8 year olds for 5 days). Aaaahhhhh.

OK... I now need to create order out of my chaos. LOL Thank you for an inspiring count. Cheers!

Oh so awesome. I will close my eyes and pretend you did my house. Yep, at least at the moment I am afraid I am a bit messy. You would think I would have grown up, but NO!

I was going to ask about the straightening thing and you answered it for me. Not surprising someone would take exception to it. It is a good thing in the end.

Enjoy the peace and quiet as it will end soon enough.

Nice 55 and da count. Oh and thanks for the German Potato Salad recipe... I followed the recipe mostly and loved it. That is a keeper. Of course I did have a few small problems...

I am NEVER having kids.

Them pictures were truly nostolgic. They reminded me of what my room lookede like when I was a kid.

for some reason, my approach of cleaning the kids rooms by waving a magic wand never works.

you must have a better magic wand

Yay for a clean room! I myself have to do a deep cleaning of my own room... the laundry has piled up and it's bad...

The calm before the storm... how nice! :)

Oh, Oh my! You have been a busy girl. Frankly, I wouldn't have known where to start.

So how long do you give it staying that way after everyone returns? Wait, that might be too depressing a thought... Never mind.
:-)

You so deserve the peace and quiet. I'm glad you are enjoying it.

You are a master at tidying up. I do fear for your life when the girls return. I have been in that position a time or two.

Have a great weekend, Michelle.

those floors are beautiful. love the hardwood floors. especially when you can see them (-;

Excellent!! It makes me want to sit right on the floor. Of course, when I do that, you'll need hydraulics to get these achy old bones back up again.

Nice sheets!

I cannot believe you cleaned those rooms..did you hire one of those dumpster things and just toss it all in?

I think Ive said this before, but once my sister broke her foot by tripping on junk in her daughters room!

The room looks great. Nice not to feel like there might be a mine under those clothes waiting to get you huh!! Okay i know there are no mines in their house, but possibly a really scary old sandwich! hehehe

DO NOT LET THEM COME HOME!!!

Just kidding. But you might think about making them give you a room deposit before letting them enter....just a thought.

oh -- btw -- loved the Jonah story!! come teach sunday school with me!!!

That, dear friend, must have been A LOT of work!! The rooms look fabulous! :)

Have hope. I used to have a disastrous room when I was younger, but now, I can't deal with a mess--so maybe they'll "grow out of it" too? ;)

ps. loved your slice of lime this week--and Norah Jones was a perfect choice!

Please forgive me. Everyone seems to be complementing you on your ability to convert a disaster area into an area of beauty. I think you ought to beat your children about the head with a feather duster for about fifteen to twenty minutes to reclaim some of the life energy you spent on their rooms this weekend.

Sweet! I love the hard wood floor!

I made homemade limeade the other week... squeeze juice of one lime + 3 or 4 x tsp sugar into half pint glass or so... add pinch of bicarb and wahey!... naturally fizzing limeade!!

When D2 was in Honduras, we brought in the heavy equipment to clean it out. It took three days. And, to our delight, she liked what we did. Well, mainly what The Missus did.

Have a great weekend!
