Friday 55 & Da Count-Six Days

FRIDAY 55

Six days
with no running around,
when everyone was in the same house,
when we could relax,

to debrief from six weeks of separation that followed hard on the heels of a horrid school year,

before practices for sports at three different schools begin,
before juggling the schedules,
before being scattered to the wind again.

DA COUNT

I'm trying to be thankful for six days. I'm counting that there were six, instead of none. (Especially since Da Count is about counting what you have instead of what you lack.) But six days is not enough time to reconnect as a family and recharge for the onslaught. Forgive me for wanting more.

Here's to a better year this school year! And you can do a lot with six days... right?
Nicely played!

Ah, the old runaround is soon to begin. Great 55, Michelle!

P.S. You are a goddess for taking word verification off.

I get tired of the running around also. We are now in the countdown of trying to finish up the required summer reading before school starts - UGH!

I wish I could give you my extra days, Lime. We don't start school until after labor day here--and I find it hard to believe but school in StL has already started!
I'm about to feel your pain soon though--we're coming back from vacation and then Boom! School is starting.

Here's to us, the super moms. :)

point of clarification: we don't actually start school until after labor day either but mr. lime coaches soccer, diana manages the varsity football team, isaac plays on the junior high football team. mr lime has practice twice a day now, diana either goes all day or twice a day, isaac goes every morning. ugh....

Do not count the hours, Count the quality that you all put in , in that brief time & those six days can be very fulfilling!

(((HUGS)))

He coaches soccer? SaWEEEET!!! I'm coaching a U10 team twice a week. I'm so sore and tired today. In a twisted way, I'm glad that somebody else is probably hurting, too. ;-)

Perfectly understandable and a very sweet count.

nice one, lime...seems we never have enough time and i don't think it's greedy to want more. but isn't it quality versus quantity? :)

i'm up.

That's a beautiful 55, Lime.
Being a person that loves her free time, I often must sing to myself,
"cats in the cradle and the silver spoon, little boy blue and the man in the moon...."
Because it is over so fast...how did LR get to be nearly 12 already?

Another nod for quality.
I'm up, pup!

I don't go back to school (work) until 2nd September, but it sure comes around quick!

Mine's up.

If I wore a cap, it would be off to you, Limers. I have no talent with 55s and you simply RAWK. Oh, and you're much cuter as well.

Hugs..

You know it is not to late. Request the remainder of your 6 days to be meassured in Basketball time. With the way they make 10 seconds strech into 15 minutes, I bet you could strecth the 6 days at least until easter.

I sure do not envy you. No wonder you were ready to melt down toward the end of the school year last year. That is it, I am putting you up for Mom of the year FOR SURE.

I think we are all wanting more. This summer has gone much too quickly. :(

Summer has flashed by! May your six days pass at a languorous pace, Michelle.

My big girl is coming home from Albuquerque this weekend. And my big boy is about to go back to college. We have this weekend to be the four of us under the same roof.

Cherish every minute, I've learned the hard way there is never "ENOUGH" time for family.

Uh oh. It's that time of the year.

Make the best of it, while they still have their freedom.

We were laking about swimming (now called phelpsing) yesterday and I was reminded of your comment on being unable to distinguish between the sexes.

Notice all that training makes the male swimmers muscled and ripped, but the femals swimmers generally look bulky and soft.

Except for Dara Torres. Go fellow 41 year old!

Ah, yes. *Poof* There went summer. I want more too!

Yes, my pup is adorable, but it doesn't make up for his stubbornness. I haven't had any response from Tommy but I am determined to call him this week. He is less than a mile away, he should know he can't hide from me. I'll let you know what I find out, but I don't recall too many of his bylines lately.

On a different note, school here has started already, and so many are still trying to catch up. Summer was really short this year, only a week between summer school and full term.

Thanks for checking in ... I'll stop by later!

I can't believe that school is about to start already and it's only mid August...when I went to school we started the day after Labor day...seems they start earlier and earlier! Thanks for coming by to see me today...

Here's the extent of my creativity tonight: I'm #30.

Sorry, Lime, I hope I'm in a better mood next time.

Since I rather look to you and your kids as harbingers of my future (well, not to you, as you're younger than I...but I mean, older as a parent...or something), I will keep in mind the need to treasure every last day of reconnecting, as our years grow increasingly overbooked.
