Da Count in a Friday 55-First Kisses

Gustav Klimt's The Kiss

Was it soft and sweet?
Was it one shy peck
or a deep exploration?
Was it a surprise?
Did a long held desire finally explode?
Did a hand gently draw your faces close?
Did arms encircle each other like you'd never let go?
Did your eyes flutter closed in bliss?
How was your first kiss?

It was really awkward; it happened behind a gas station while I was skipping 6th grade classes. It's a great memory that has endured a life time almost. Happy Valentine's Day Limey!

I love that painting. One of my favorites.

My brother and sister made me kiss the neighbor boy when I was 6. It was a quick peck and I hated it.

My first real kiss came when I was in 9th grade. My first boyfriend walk me home from school and kissed me right in front of one of the busiest streets. I was both embarrassed and thrilled at the same time. Very cute. :)

Just a couple of horny 15 year olds who had met that day at an amusement park. It was about 10 minutes of tonsil sucking goodness.

Love the painting and your 55!

My first peck on the lips was when I was in kindergarten and it was with the youngest son of some family friends. My oldest brother held me and his brother held him and they pushed us together until we done a little pop kiss on the lips. That boy and I had a crush on each other from kindergarten until our freshman year of high school but neither of us acted on it because our families were so close.

My husband planted one of those spine tingling, knees give out, senses beware kisses on me on our first date and I am thankful that for the past 18 yrs I have and can get one of those anytime I want.

Happy Valentine's Day!

My first REAL kiss was with the man who's currently upstairs working in his home office. Yep, that would be my husband of 25 yrs. Was it romantic? Ab-so-freakin-lotuely NOT!

It was a long time coming (I'm 6 1/2 yrs. younger than he, I was still in high school, had JUST turned 17, and he was friends with my dad) it took a LOT of courage on his part to even go there.

We were both terribly nervous so our throats kept making horrific noises because we had just eaten. Not only that but it was rushed because my dinner break from work was almost over.

As I said, "I'd better go." He leaned across the seat in his car and brushed his lips awkwardly across mine. I blushed, said goodnight and when I walked into the store where I worked, the manager took one look at me and said, "HOT DAMN, he FINALLY did it!" (how could he tell?) That's when I found out they were laying bets at work as to when this guy who often dropped in to say hi, would finally kiss me.

So, it was awkward, which really fits our life, we're anything BUT conventional. But it was a kiss brought to fruition after several weeks of getting to better know one another AND it was a kiss that cemented the fact we were both willing to risk whatever difficulties we may encounter. And GOD knows we DID!

I'd been pecked on the lips a couple of times before this kiss but I'll forever consider this, to be the moment of my 'First Kiss.'

I was in 7th grade and had a crush on the boy from down the street's friend. This was awkward because the boy from down the street had a crush on me. we talked on the phone and it got arranged that the 2 boys would come down to my house and we'd hang out. Somehow it came to pass that we were to kiss. I pretended I'd kissed someone before but it was a lie. I had butterflies in my stomach before it kiss happened and once my lips touched his, it was amazing and disgusting and awkward and sloppy.

Yeah, nothing like the first kiss with Halo.

That was the best first kiss ever! :) Maybe I'll tell you about it

I don't remember....

For me it was actually very sweet... mainly because I was not the one to initiate it. I won't go into details but it was very nice feeling desired... especially by someone who I thought was totally out of my league. :)

good questions! why don't you hold another competition of people writing about their first kiss.

Or shall I do that on my blog, with attractive prizes of course?

First ever true kiss was at a dance in junior high. Very gentle and sweet with an Asian boy I was drawn to due to his art. Even though nothing of a relationship developed I still cherish the memory.

First time I kissed my past husband was a magic moment in the alley behind the restaurant I worked at. My knees actually buckled! My currant love's first kiss was at a bus stop near where we had met for the fist time. His kiss was intense and sensuous... and to this day 8 years later??? It still holds the same luscious power over me.

Oh, my. . .

I suppose my first kiss was a bit of face-sucking with a girl named Bev, who showed up to go Christmas caroling with our church youth group. Somewhere along the line, we wound up in the back seat of a car together, she let me know she might be interested, and well, you know. . .

My GF1 was a really good kisser. Tongue-wrestler, more like. . .

2F studied art for a couple years, and she was very fond of Klimt. . .

More kissy stuff?

My first was awkward, and though I was eager to know a kiss, I was more embarrassed at the though of anyone finding out that I had kissed that neighbor girl. Growing up in a racist community, I was genuinely surprised to find that a white girl would condescend to kiss this hispanic. Racism sucks.

It was singularly uninspiring. He drooled. Let's leave it at that.

My first kiss that counted ... really did not count. The details escape me but I was in 7th or 8th grade. A small group of us (neighbors) were up this shallow path on public land that lead to a tree that someone had put a small platform in. There was also a truck cab (18 wheeler type cab) parked there but it was unlocked and windows were down. A couple went into the truck cab, a few (including me) went into the tree and a couple stayed on the ground. I had my first kiss with Mary Jane. It was awkward and really did not mean anything since I just thought of her as a friend but it did get me thinking about what was next...

Boy, I am not a country music fan but this particular song keeps coming to mind over the last two days... "This Kiss" by Faith Hill. Not exactly the first kiss but it will do.

My first kiss was premature, sloppy, silly and tinged with metal bits of his braces. Took place in the front seat of a car during a basketball game. It was just the beginning of my career of going to games and having to ask what the score was before I went home. I knew Mom was listening to the games on the radio.

What I remember more clearly are first kisses with particular people.

Mine was very nervous and very quick. I was so nervous when he was saying goodnight that I essentially stuck my head out the front door while my body stayed protected in the house. He only had access to my head. I'm sure it was hilarious, but I didn't see it that way at the time.

Okay my first real kiss...not counting anything that happened in elementary school or dares...was with my first boyfriend Albie when I was like 12. I had a crush on him for years..he was older ..by a whole year...and it happened hidden under the branches of a tree where we used to hide when we didn't want to be found. As far as I can remember it was great...of course I had been waiting forever hehehe! Sometime later Albie gave me a ring with an opal on it, and a chinese vase with a white rose in it. That ring is still in my old jewlery box at my mom's house. He was supposed to love me forever but like many after him that promise didn't keep. But he meant it when he was 13. I am however satisfied with the way things turned out hehehe! Since I am happy with the man I ended up with.

I can't remember the first time I kissed a girl and it meant something. I guess it's because it was nothing like Mr. Klimt's.

Klimt gives us such a romantic view of the world. I adore him for it.

My fist kiss was in 6th grade with a boy with whom I am still friends. He just happens to be a happily partnered gay man now.

S ~ go ahead and incriminate away. SSS won't mind. Nor would I.

Okay, enough, Psychic Sister. A little personal space here.

I am NUTS for that Klimt.
