Slice of Lime-Pocketful of Sunshine

It was a blissful few days at the beach last week. I found a smooth little river rock that fit perfectly in my hand as a worry stone. I was back in the cottage when Dad turned on the 4th of July concert in Washington, DC and I heard Natasha Bedingfield singing her new song, Pocketful of Sunshine . That was a bit of a reminder to keep a positive outlook and try to hang on to the sunshine I got to enjoy during my own sweet escape. It's been a while since I did a musical Slice of Lime so this week I'm going back to that mode.

I got a pocket, got a pocketful of sunshine.
I got a love, and I know that it's all mine.
Oh.

Do what you want, but you're never gonna break me.
Sticks and stones are never gonna shake me.
No.

Take me away: A secret place.
A sweet escape: Take me away.

Take me away to better days.
Take me away: A higher place.

I got a pocket, got a pocketful of sunshine.
I got a love, and I know that it's all mine.
Oh.

Do what you want, but you're never gonna break me.
Sticks and stones are never gonna shake me.
No.

I got a pocket, got a pocketful of sunshine.
I got a love, and I know that it's all mine.
Oh.

Wish that you could, but you ain't gonna own me.
Do anything you can to control me.
Oh, no.

Take me away: A secret place.
A sweet escape: Take me away.

Take me away to better days.
Take me away: A higher place.

There's a place that I go,

But nobody knows.
Where the rivers flow,
And I call it home.

And there's no more lies.
In the darkness, there's light.
And nobody cries.
There's only butterflies.

Take me away: A secret place.
A sweet escape: Take me away.

Take me away to better days.
Take me away: A higher place.

Take me away: A secret place.
A sweet escape: Take me away.

Take me away to better days.
Take me away: A higher place.

Take me away: A secret place.
To better days take me away.

Take me away to better days.
Take me away: A higher place.

The sun is on my side.
Take me for a ride.
I smile up to the sky.
I know I'll be all right.

The sun is on my side.
Take me for a ride.
I smile up to the sky.
I know I'll be all right.

So how many skips did you get? I never got above 4. That looked like a good stone to use.

The beach sounds like a good idea right now.

I've heard that song like a million times but I never thought about how appropriate a mantra it is.

Worry stone? I had to look that up. When I saw that pic, I assumed it was for skipping.

Of course finding a gold nugget that fit perfectly in your hand would have been very good too..

That first photo is frustrating.

I was trying to be the cleavage-peeping waiter, and you confounded my efforts.

I'm going to need more cleavage before I bring your dessert, Ma'am.
