Weird News Wednesday-Cats in Control

This week I found an article publishing the results of a study which says researchers have confirmed that cats manipulate their owners. I've known enough cats in my life time to be pretty sure of this fact without needing scientific research to confirm it. I'm betting it was all set up by a cat owner who was manipulated by his pet who really wanted a more constant flow of tuna.

I think that is part of why I am so fond of cats. The funny thing is that I do not like that trait in a person at all. Oh well.

Yes, I realize that cats are manipulative...that's probably why my boyfriend's mother hates them, because she can't stand competition.

I don't know cats that much, but I bow for your facts :-)

All that's needed now is a follow-up study about whether male or female cats are better at manipulation...

As one who has hit the snooze button only to have Goober turn off my CPAP, I can only agree with you.

No cats do not control their owners. I freely write this with my wife's kitten sitting on my shoulder watching me.

I doesn't even have to be your own cat. The wife's feline= no I will not claim possesion- consistantly tries to work her wiles upon us.

I just throw food at it to keep it quiet.

99% of the population could have told you that cat are in charge. Why waste money even doing the research?

When I read this article I reached over to my cat Leif and cooed "You don't manipulate me do you? You aren't my baby are you, no you aren't, no you aren't..." I was away from the computer for a good 10 minutes rubbing his belly then came back to the article and thought: OH YEAH! I am hooked.

Then I had to get up and go find Bonita, the girl cat. She lets the love come to her rather than her coming to look for a belly rub.
