Slice of Lime-Sarong to Summer

The past few years Lecram has hosted a Sarong to Summer post. I've joined the fun each year since he started it. Today is Sarong to Summer '09 as the weather gets cooler and the days a little shorter. I haven't had time to fiddle with my camera and computer to try to make them play nice with each other but fortunately I got a couple of sarong pictures when I went to the beach in July.

I look back and think about the one brief escape I got to the beach. It was much needed at the time. It would have been nice to have another one or two but I am glad I got that chance considering the recent totaling of Beulah the Minivan of Love and the uncertainty that was ahead. I remember sitting on the beach and just staring at the water and the sun as it sank below the point on the opposite shore...wondering about some of the changes I knew were coming and others that may or may not.

Sarong to Summer. It had its good and its bad. It's the close of one season and the start of a new one...in more ways than what is merely reflected on the calender or thermostat.

I hate saying goodbye to summer, but I do love fall. after that, it kinda sucks.

What shores do you do? Not the Jersey shores I hope! lol

I haven't had much beach time this summer either, although it's just a fifteen minute walk away. The thought of broiling in 110 heat didn't have much appeal. Hope that fall will bring good things to you :)

Awww...I love your sarong. You look so pretty Lime-such simple contemplation.

Much love to you and I was so sorry to hear about your loss. I always feel like death is a release that allows for the people you love to be with you always--not just sometimes.

Fall does bring back to school though--and some quiet moments for yourself. :)

Mmmmmm. . .

Nice post, Lime. . .

I too, cherish my opportunities to sit on the beach, and contemplate the mysteries of the Universe to the sound of the crashing waves. . .

But I also love the crisp, cool fall air, and the multi-colored trees (almost like tie-dye, aren't they?). So it's win-win. . .

;)

I hope the autumn changes serve as a beacon of hope, bringing times of refreshment from the tumult of this past summer.

So long to this summer.

Next summer should be a good one. I hear there's going a big party next August on Long Island. Considering who's throwing it, I'm certain it will be a blast. ;-)

That's a great sarong. Colors always suit you so well.

It has been a rocky year. I've had to scratch 2 beach trips including this weekends Savannah trip. I need big waters to sooth my soul.

I think you have more need for contemplation. Time to take a Fall visit to the beach, this time with a hoodie.

so colorful and bright, Love it!
Isn't it funny how we view change with a sense of apprehention, even when we don't mean to?
