Da Count in Friday 55-Keeping Warm

Pellet stove
Ear flap hat
Long underwear
Wool socks
Tie dye gloves
Flannel sheets
The quilt mom and I made
My favorite wool blanket

My husband keeps the bedroom at 50F.
My station at work has a marble counter and is right by the building entrance.
I'm very grateful for the things that keep me warm.

*Note to Phaedrous: I read your 2nd comment during breakfast. Do you know how painful it is to have Grape nuts come out your nose when laughing? Nonetheless, I am honored. I will be sure to bring more than just my summer scarf and parka.

*Note to Jocelyn: I love me some kayaking. I will need some instruction in the snowshoeing since I've never done that but I am eager. If by hefty porter you mean a strapping male Duluthian inclined to carry things I am all over that!

I guess being Duluthian is better than being Fargonian or Minneapolisonian...say that three times fast...

At least you're saving on dreadful heating bills having a bedroom at such "bracing" temperatures...

50F?!! I finally put the plastic sheets over my bedroom windows for insulation, and that stuff makes a BIG difference!! That's gotta be rough going from Trinidad to a 50F bedroom.

And there's no point in moving to Florida...

Yeef; Jen and I only keep our bedroom at 55F at night. We're such wimps. . .

'Course, there's a good-news/bad-news aspect to that. See, she'll snuggle up to me to keep warm, which is nice. But then, any amorous festivities (at least nocturnal ones) are strictly confined to under-the-covers until spring. . .

The tie-dye gloves are tres cool, btw. You ever look into a pair of wool slipper-socks? Them puppies is nice. . .

I don't know about you keeping warm, but that shot of you under the wool blanket, when combined with my salacious imagination, is doing the trick for me.

Yes, warm things are much appreciated now. It's actually a toasty 39 here right now. The other day when I awoke it was, as I like to say, no degrees. Ugh. That's cold.

On a sad/happy note, I was looking for news on Haiti yesterday and found myself on a blog called The Liming House. Thanks to you, I knew what that meant.

50 - there ought to be a law that no temp gage be set lower than 65 during the day. And that's too cold for me.
My 55 is here.

We hit 55 degrees today! Woo hoo! Normally, I'd refrain from gloating but it's been so frigging cold here. Duluthian, even.

I went to bed in wool socks, flannel jammie pants, long sleeve t-shirt with flannel sheets, heated mattress pad and three animals! We were near -40 this week and I keep the house around 65 throughout but that night I was cold!

We keep our bedroom warmer than that at night but I still use one of those blankets with arms.
Good 55

Count your blessings, Renny prefers to sleep with the window open! Needs fresh air. We are a bit crazy here in Norway, when the fall comes I actually look forward to fuzzy wool sweaters and hand knitted socks. As you have heard us say before, there's no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothes! Here the society goes on and the people go out no matter how cold it is - and the worst part is I have gotten used to it!
