Trini Tuesday-Palancin'

Standardized testing got you down? Rough time at work lately? Then it's palancin' time!

Palancin': wandering in search of a good lime.

Lime: Trini slang with a range of meanings from idling about on the street corner with friends, to planning a picnic by the river or beach, to a massive party. No matter how formal or informal, planned or spontaneous, liming always involves a group. It frequently includes food, drink, and possibly music.

Now that vid cheered me right up. I wasn't in a bad mood to begin with, but there's something about that kind of music - how can you not smile?

That style always reminds me of listening to Bob Marley on 45... or even 78.

Bet you would have loved to do that in your old office. Hey, maybe you actually can in your new one? Get a rumba line going all around the desks? Docs, patients, staff and all? Nothing like some hip-shakin' to limber up those spines?

I'm just sayin' ;-)

Wow. Even a confirmed non-dancer like me felt like getting up and busting a move. Nice.

Please compare and contrast:

Palancin' and Limin'

Is there a difference? I will guess that liming involves much less physical activity?

Missed you and will spend the lunch hour catching up, but what a great post to come back to, I actually got up and was palancin' round the field office!

I want to work at that office.

I went palancin' last Saturday after I overthrew the tyranny of suburban yard work.

Even saw the same Cookie Monster looking thing, but that was after a bunch of margaritas.

You've given me the word I've searched for my whole life--to describe how I feel inside most days; I feel "palancey."

Now, that just looks like entirely too much fun. . .

(And, for just a second, I thought they were singing about the town where I live. . .)
