The Kid

We got the pain under control and he did manage to sleep last night. What a magic moment when the poor kid finally got to sleep. PT starts later today.

What meds did they give him? I received percocet (oxycodone) when I had mine done, and no problems with pain.

Ah, blessed relief! Glad he could finally get some sleep. . .

They're not wasting any time getting him to the PT, are they? That seems REALLY quick. . .

So sorry to hear Lime... been out of the loop myself dealing with a few broken bones, but thank goodness no surgery was required... just vicodin!!!

PT is going to be rough... I'll keep him in my thoughts and prayers.

Whoops - missed those last two. Best wishes and prayers for your son. As Sul mentioned, serious narcotics often help also.

Sleep is good. His youth and healthy (active) lifestyle should prove to help PT, but it's still no picnic.

Hang in there, Isaac!

Good to hear that he is on the mend. The body has an amazing capacity to heal.

Issac had a surgery? I hope he recovers soon. He will; he is young!

Were they able to repair the meniscus or did they have to debride it? Glad he finally got it taken are of. What a trooper just going about his business when it hurt. Silly kids will do that. Take care!

Good! I'm glad he's feeling better now. It must be horrible having a child in pain...

The sweet little dear...Hooray for some sleep! Now, just to keep the time passing comfortably so that this surgery is a long ago memory.

Erghh, it's gonna be so tough for him to NOT do sports....

So for this time period, which will no doubt involve lot of TV, I recommend:

All the Survivors Seasons! Rent some but not all on Netflix.
All the Amazing Race Seasons, if you can get em.....
And, well, how bout some Project Runway reruns? I don't know you that well, kiddo, but maybe you have a knack for fashion....
And then, there are my favorite computer games, (none are violent but lean toward psychedelic and childlike), such as:
Cubis
Virtual Villagers
Gem Drop
Alchemy
Facebook: Restaurant City!! Woo hoo!

SNAX:
Coca cola ice cold in the 20 oz recyclable plastic
bottle. (canned coke is not the same taste!)
Pork rinds Oink oink
Oatmeal raisin cookies handmade from your mom using the recipe on the oatmeal box.
That funny cake pie thing your mom makes
and if you have it, have mom run out to In AND Out for some burgers and fries, it's the best fast food in the world!
Ok Kiddo, have fun. (Feel free to disregard all above suggestions as I am a 49 year old freak in the box that has known your mom longer than just about anyone on this box!)

My thoughts are with you and Issac. I'm keeping him on my list. Thanks for keeping us posted. Poor guy! Poor parents. Sometime I am not sure which is worse... to hurt or to watch someone you love hurt. I think it might be the latter.

Hope he feels better soon and continues to sleep well.

What makes me happiest of all is knowing you're the kind of mom who buys the Oreos for him.

Done a bit of back reading to find out what I missed. Poor chap, and poor you all...no parent can bear to see their kids in pain. I do hope the meds kick in soon. My son now has a date for his third surgery on the loosest knee ever, and at 46 he will still get comfort from his ma.

Nothing is worse then seeing one you love in pain, especially your child. Glad he is able to sleep and hope the physical therapy helps!

Ya know, i really was enjoying your baseball post until the end there...
Hope all goes well with the PT, meniscus, he'l be back in no time!

Poor Isaac. Yes, he will be in my prayers. I'm so glad the pain is under control now. I once injured my meniscus walking down a spiral staircase in high heels. OUCH.

I read your earlier post about your complex relationship with baseball and I need to tell you this: Were I young enough to have been in elementary school with you, you would have always been chosen for the team before me. And the one from the "special" class would have been chosen before me. "Athletically declined" is my middle name. I mean names.

#26 - that's us;)
Snoring? I say: Anna stop snoring, then she stops. Well, sometimes I have to repeat it 2 or 3 times, then I fall asleep.

Great post, so say I from our Summer House.
