Temperature: 84F
Humidity: 50%
Relative Crankiness: Rising, with scattered outbursts expected throughout the day.
And now for a brief venting from your mother...
To Isaac: I don't care if you don't want to go to the doctor and then to physical therapy. Truthfully, I'd rather not be sitting in the bumper to bumper traffic in this weather in a car with no AC to get you to your appointments but this is what has to happen so shut up.
To Calypso: I am sorry you are not feeling well and had to come home from school. It does not give you permission to scream at people so shut up.
To Diana: Don't even open your mouth unless it is to thank your father, your grandmother, and me profusely for the extended generosity and hard work to get you to college and keep you there. Your recent performance and decisions do not leave room for even the slightest hint of entitled behavior so shut up.
Times like these make me remember my grandfather's stern warning to me when I misbehaved as a kid.
Girl, you'd better straighten up or I'm gonna cloud up and rain all over you!

Aw, Lime. I'm sorry your sunny day isn't so sunny. Have a popsicle. It might not help, but it certainly won't hurt.
Hey, do you have a minute or two to come and talk to my kids for me?
In keeping with what Sul said, I recently bought a box of all-fruit Lime popsicles that were amazingly good. Like a frozen Margarita that you could have even at work.
I feel for you, but your post made me smile. When the kids were younger, i used to say things about listening, and respect, and behavior and all that.
Now, I too have pretty much whittled it down to "Shut up! Please, please, please just shut up - ten minutes - all I ask, just shut up for ten minutes please!"
Some days, that's all I've got.
to further Suldog's suggestion. try a cold popsicle down the pants of whomever annoys you next
Momma told me there would be days like these.
Whew, boy. One of those days, huh?
LOVE your grandfather's saying. I may just have to use that. :)
LOL - kids always think either the world revolves around them, or that anything bad (such as crappy weather) is ONLY happening to them!
I believe kids sense when you are at your weakest and go after you then.
Sic 'em, baby!
Then have a nice bowl of chocolate ice cream.

LOL!!!!!
During such similar behavior on my part or that of any of her grandchildren my grandmother would make us cut a switch from a bush or small tree and spank us with it. Which was not as bad as afterward being made to pray on bended knee until she felt we had atoned for our sins.
It all sounds bad now given the attitudes of many in this day and age but my grandmother dearly loved her grandchildren.
here..have a Dove bar...I'll just go sit over in the corner...
Humidity and heat make me want to slap people, so it behooves them not to be the slightest bit slappable. Sounds like you're dealing with that this week.
Oh my honey. Been there. Especially with the oldest. We have upped the ante by having a child in our third year of college. Guess she did not think full time school and work were hard enough.
It will get better or it may get worse but you WILL handle it with grace as always. :)
Poor you.. the heat makes everyone cranky. Your grandfather's line cracked me up.
