I was trying to decide what to do about dinner the other day. I was thinking about pizza but due to some dietary restrictions Calypso has right now to try to boost her immunity she can't have that so I opted not to torment my poor pizza deprived daughter by bringing it into the house.
It was a cold day so I thought a grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup would be good. I didn't have enough bread.
I looked to see what I did have. Oh, garlic bagel chips, about 8 roma tomatoes, some fresh mozzarella pearls, and some basil. I can dice up the tomatoes and basil, mix 'em with olive oil, garlic, and the pearls and eat it off the bagel chips!
I can get pizza for lunch tomorrow and stop at the store on the way home to get bread for grilled cheese...
So basically I want...
round bread with cheese and tomato sauce all baked together...
toasted bread with cheese dipped in liquid tomoatoes...
or chips dipped into a mixture of tomatoes and cheese.
I don't have a problem with bread, tomatoes, and cheese though.

Cool weather cravings.. nasty things! Please pass the bagel chips.
That sounds like how I cook. I did manage bread, had some ham left over, had some swiss, and then one green apple...made a grilled cheese out of that. Wanted a second but didn't have any more bread left.
You're making me hungry! And it's my shopping day...not a combination. ;)
Love pizza.
All of those sound pretty good. Cheese is the thing for me. CHEESE, GROMIT! WE'LL GO WHERE THERE'S CHEESE!
Bread, next. Bread and cheese is a food group in my world. Tomatoes and/or onions are pretty important, but I can live on bread and cheese.
Part of this also reminds me of the times when I go to make dinner and find that my lovely family has eaten all the (bad word) ingredients. Yay. Lots of "plan B" meals, especially now that the boys are growing.
Jen makes a salad which is basically cherry tomatoes, mozzarella balls, and a few pearl onions, over baby spinach leaves, dressed with garlic, lemon juice and olive oil. . .
But I suppose you could have bread with it, too. . . ;)

And Cricket - not even Wensleydale?
Yeah, I'm a sucker for any of those combinations, also. Tomatoes are a big-time Achilles heel for me. Slap a tomato on it, or in it, and you'll at least get me to put one forkful of whatever it is into my mouth.
Considering my favorite foods are pizza and lasagna, I hear you! And I'm totally hooked on Panera's tomato bisque.
There's a kid in my house right now whose favorite thing to say these days is "What?! Pizza again?!" so well I know your craving!
Right now, there's a lasagna waiting to be cut for our dinner in a few minutes. Even if we're not having pizza, I'm trying to get almost as close as you in at least taking in the flavors!
LOL
On Tuesday night we had bruschetta
on wed night we had bruschetta
tonight?
I dont know, how about cheese and basil pizza?
LOL
It's a popular fetish.
Haha!
Sounds good to me! :)
Yep - I eat variants of that combo all the time.
Funny. I was craving pizza before I read this post, now I am craving it even more!
