FRIDAY 55
Cleaning out the closet
I find the sweater
I wore for our first date.
I wore for our first date.
I hoped you'd like
the way it hugged my curves.
Your hand
in the small of my back,
in the small of my back,
reassured me.
Time faded and stretched the sweater
and me.
I fold the sweater again,
not ready to part with it
or you.

This was so sweet.
I love it when that little Romantic rears it's pretty head.
Loved your 55...:-)

What a sweet 55. Can't help but smile reading this one.
Tells a huge story, your 55 does. Loved it!
Very nice. Evocative of time-tested love. Thanks.
Awww. Sweet. :)
Lovely 55.
Oh so romantic, I can relate, I have a dress like that, now my curves are a little too curvy for the petite size 6, sigh...
nice 55er,
joanny
oh yes, you captured romance in a moment, loved it!
then you should not part with either. Lovely 55.
A hug captured in a sweater! Nice one! :)
Romantic, sentimental... just wonderful! (It also doesn't hurt that I like sweaters) Very nice, Lime!
Very nice : )
I just threw out my wedding shoes last week! After 24 years, I finally said, 'WTH am I hanging onto these for?'
A sweet remembrance. On the other hand, I won't share it with the Mrs, as I'd rather she clear about half of the stuff out of this house and be done with it. Baby booties? Yes. Adult clothes that will never fit again? No.
We do, however, mark the anniversary of our first date, even if sometimes it's only a "remember when..."
I love it! Perfect analogy of the sweater, I bet he'd still love it though!
I remember what my wife wore on our first date . . . perhaps this inspired another post for me in the future!
Spiderman's Ride is my 55 this week.
Love the romance...

That was sweet!
Lovely.
I have some sweaters that I have had even longer than Gary!
Of course, while keeping something around based on the strength of memory can be lovely, perhaps we could make a case for pulling on a loose strand and seeing what unravels--providing the raw material to knit up a new, current, functional thing...

Oh, that's romantic! I don't think I could give it up either. :)
Isn't it amazing how something like that sweater can carry so many memories? I won't tell you how long I kept my prom dress.
Sweet 55...I have a few of those sweaters in my closet too...;)
I have some clothes with that sort of sentimental value, and also think about things like that when I dress for a first date.
a soft and memorable 55 my friend
he has a treasure
have a great weekend
moonie hugs
Ah ! Some old relics are like that. I still have my son's clothes from infanthood, and my husband's clothes still smell of him...
Of late I've been coming across several of those "special items" myself. Love the elegance and simplicity of your 55. :) Cheers!
Aww, everyone needs a few tangible reminders of special times like that. Nice 55!

I have a few momentos I can't part with either. Lovely.
I wore a green 2-pc miniskirt suit on our first date, which as long since been cast into the fires, after it was very worse for wear. Does that make me a bad person?? :)
