Sloth Fail

So the plan for the weekend was to thoroughly indulge myself in utter slothfulness....minus the parted belly hair and growth of algae on my person.  I merely intended to loaf around the house in my new penguin footie pajamas and accomplishing nothing other than feeding myself, watching movies, reading books, and sleeping late.  It seemed a realistic goal since Mr. Lime, Isaac, and Calypso were to be out of town for the weekend thus relieving me of my taxi duties.  Lending further to the plan's successful completion was a forecast for ice and snow on Saturday.

However, there were some glitches.  Although I didn't get out of bed until 11:30 AM on Saturday, over the weekend I did 6 loads of laundry, changed the sheets, payed the bills, did the grocery shopping, and cooked for the next 3 days.  Diana came home to visit too and we also went out for Greek food and a movie, which required I attend to some personal hygiene and get out of my jammies.  I'd say Operation Sloth was a bit of a failure.  The Greek food, movie, and visit with my kid were good though.

And just to make sure at I covered some of the deadly sins I engaged in gluttony at the restaurant and a touch of lust when we came home and popped a Hugh Jackman movie in the DVD player.

Did the same over the weekend but ran low on beer Saturday night, thank God for the cheap red wine hidden away in the kitchen, Ritz crackers, and a slightly old hunk of sharp cheddar.

You 'payed' the bills? Seriously? Tsk, tsk. I'd rather read that you'd 'paid' them, but I can be anal like that. . . ;)

We had some serious sloth goin' on around here, too, with both Jen and me workin' our way out of the flu (and let me just say that it's an awful situation for the two of us to be confined to bed together, and be too whacked-out to even want to try to take proper advantage of it). It was Sunday afternoon before I even remembered that there was a football game Sunday night. . .

Never ever plan a slothful weekend. If you plan it, it's bound not to work.

Slothilazation is a good thing. Try it again next weekend!

Hey, if you can't do sloth, lust and gluttony are pretty reasonable as backups.

All things considered, I think an "attagirl" is appropriate, either way. Whether it's for actually getting stuff done, or for the thought of getting to work on your slothfulness skills again in the futures.

Well, if you can't be lazy, you may as well stuff yourself with Greek food. I could see that, especially if some dee-licious baklava were involved.

Sorry I've been such a lame commenter lately. I've been reading, though ... I promise. Hope to get back on track posting/commenting soon :-P

As long as you wore the penguin footie pj's. That's the important thing.

This will just make the sloth time even more enjoyable when it finally arrives. The longer you run, the better it feels to get off life's treadmill for a rest!

Planning a sloth day rarely works for me. It goes best when I have lots of things I want to get done.

I have a thing where, even if I'm doing housework and such, so long as I'm alone--not with family--it feels like a vacation. I can do laundry and still call it sloth, so again, High Five on the Psychic Sisterdom!

I kinda miss you these days, you know, what with my being particularly lax in keeping up with posts and such. All my fault, but it's something about February.
